“NOW shoot,” the voice instructed her. As if on instinct, she immediately points her index finger towards Alex. Her heart begins to race and blood rushed through her head. She felt her sweaty palm and in a snap, took a fire shot on Alex’s body. The invisible string that’s binding her slowly loosening and the force that's keeping her above the ground slowly fading. She wiggled once more and the bind was vanishing, then she jumps and fall on her knees. She ran to Alex which is now lying on a hot, hard ground. She repeatedly tapped his left cheek. "Hey Alex, wake up," he slowly opens his eyes and gave Roya a smirk. She immediately distanced herself from Alex. "Very good Roya. My work here is done. You can now wake up." "Roya? Sweetie. Wake up," she felt that someone is shaking her. She can't understand what was happening. "Sweetie please, wake up," it sounds like he is pleading. Roya closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "ROYA, you must be tired. You should take a rest," Alex suggested. They are heading back home. "But- " "No buts Sweetie. Please take a nap." Feeling defeated, "Okay." "And forget what happened," Roya tried closing and her eyes and pretending that she's sleeping. She still can't process what the hell happened earlier. Alex told her that they were just taking a stroll around the airbase when they passed by a haunted building. The airbase has a handful of abandoned areas because it was used to be a military base. Alex noticed the abandoned building and was giving Roya a lecture about not going to places or even mentioning weird horror stuff but when he looked at Roya, she was like a frozen statue that is intently looking at the building. He tried to shake her body for her to wake up but she started chanting words he can't even understand. Alex started to panic when Roya took a step towards the building. Then she started walking and entered the rusty old gate. Despite having fears, Alex catches up to her and continued to wake her. Suddenly she fell to the ground. He carried her and was constantly waking her while he walked out of the abandoned building. She woke up few minutes after she lose consciousness. "Roya, you're not sleeping. Please don't stress yourself." "I'm sorry. I can't help it." After a couple of minutes, they reached Roya's house. They were greeted by Raven who was impatiently waiting at the gate. He opened the door for her little sister and lead her inside. Roya headed straight to bedroom. She wants an alone time and reflect on what was happened. She tried remembering the two different voices she heard. The one who took over Alex's body is obviously the bad guy and the voice who helped her is the good one, that's what she thinks. "Levi? Sis? Where are you?" the little girl scanned the room but has no luck in finding her sister. She then decided to go to her sister's room. "Sis?" she tried calling her again. She was close to crying because no one is around and there were noises and flashes of lights. "Levi, where are you?" she can't control her fears so she began to cry. Suddenly, she noticed a strange light coming from the top of Levi's bedside table. There was something in it that's urging her to go near it. She walked towards the table and stared at the necklace in which the strange light is coming from. There's this force that is urging her to touch it. Since she can't fight the feeling, she slowly lifted her right hand and touched the necklace. Upon touching it, a black hole suddenly appeared and a force started to pull her.> "Ah!" she jolted awake. It was that dream again. It felt so real and it felt like that little girl was me.> A knocked was heard from outside her door. She stood up and opened the door. "Let's have dinner baby," he caressed Roya's left cheek. Roya nodded and closed her bedroom door. They headed to the kitchen and sat in front of the bar's counter and they started eating. "How are you feeling?" he asked her while putting rice on her plate. "I'm fine, no need to worry." "You know you're a bad liar, right? If not necessary, I won't tell our parents." She took a deep breath and shared what happened at the Kent's airbase. He just stared at her after she told him everything. "Tell me baby, is it a two-storey building with an old gate?" she nodded her head as a response. He touched her cheek and smiled. "Do you trust me?" "What's going on? Why are you suddenly asking me that?" confused is written all over her face. "Just answer me baby." "Of course." Raven took out his phone and dialed a number. After a few rings, someone answered. "Hey Dad, sorry to disturb you. We need to tell her now." he ended the call and turn his gaze on Roya. "Mom and Dad will be here tomorrow. I want you to clear your mind and take a rest." "What was that about? What will you tell me?" "Tomorrow baby." "BABY, time to wake up," Raven called and knocked the door. "Five more minutes Raven," she stirred in her bed. "No, get up now baby. Our parents are on their way here." "Ugh! Fine. I'll just take a shower." "Okay, I'll wait for you at the dining." She had no choice but to obliged. Raven is a freak when it comes to rising early and not skipping meals. She had to deal with him because they're siblings and most of the time, they are both alone in the house. They parents are usually out of town, like yesterday. She knows that they are busy so knowing that they spare their precious time for her is really a blessing. After fixing herself, she headed to the dining area where he saw Raven reading a newspaper. An old soul is trapped in Raven's body. Like, who reads a newspaper these days?> She was about to take a seat when their parents arrived. Worried look was plastered in their faces. Her mom and dad hugged her. "Let's eat first honey," her dad suggested. They went to the dining area and seated. There was an awkward silence and Raven decided to break it. "How's the summit Dad?" "To be honest? It was boring. Good thing your mom's there." "How about you princess? How's school?" "It was okay mom and I thought we had a deal not to call me a princess?" she tried to laugh. After having a peaceful yet fun breakfast, they headed to her mom's backyard garden. Her mom decided to prepare some tea for the family. Roya seated facing their back door. "Roya can you tell us what happened yesterday?" her mom asked. "Didn't Raven told you already?" "No he didn't and we want to hear it from you." Roya nodded her head and started narrating. Just by looking at her parent’s face, they seem to know something. They didn't even looked shock; it was more like they were worried. "I want you to be ready for this Roya. Can you promise us that you will widen your understanding?" "Uh, I don't know what to expect Mom but okay, I promise." "Roya, our sweet little angel, I don't to say this because we love you so much and we don't want to hurt you," her mom began to cry and her dad tried to calm her down. "Honey, I can't say it." "It's okay. Let me handle it." She felt Raven's hand squeezing her left hand. She turned her gaze and saw sadness in his eyes. It is the first time she saw her family like this. It pains her to think that she is the reason on whatever they were feeling right now. "Roya, we want to be honest with you and we think that this is the right time to tell you about it." "About what?" "About who you really are." "What are you talking about Dad? It's as if, you're saying that I'm not your daughter." she faked a laugh but her family remained silent. She doesn't like what she was seeing. She doesn't want to believe it. "I'm adopted?" she tried her best to compose herself but failed miserably. Raven hugged her as she started crying. "It's going to be alright baby. Nothing will ever change, we are a family." "Always remember that you are our daughter and we will never stop loving you." "Thank you for accepting and loving me mom, dad and Raven." "Roya, there's one more thing." "What is it Dad?" "Remember what you told us that happened yesterday?" Roya nodded her head. "The abandoned building you were talking about is the place where we found you." She can't digest what her dad just stated. What does it mean? "Can you tell me more?" "Honey, I think I can do it," her mom assured her husband. "It happened twelve years ago. Your Dad, Raven and I were having a family date at Kent's airbase. While we were having a little stroll around the area, we passed by an abandoned building." "And that abandoned building was the 2-storey building I was talking about?" "Most probably. As I was saying Princess, we were passing by when we saw a strange light coming from that building. I told them that we should hurry because there are rumors of paranormal activities around that area." "We walked hastily but when the light was gone, we saw a beautiful kid staring at us. At first, we thought you were a ghost but when you lose consciousness, that's when we know that you are indeed human. Your Dad carried you and we rushed into a hospital." "We searched for your family but found no one so we decided to adopt you and raised you as our own," Dad added. "We knew all along that you are not an ordinary kid. We knew that you are gifted, that you are different from us." "And yet, you still accepted me," tears were streaming down her face once more. "It's because, we love you baby. You were a blessing in this family. I always want to have a sibling but our parents can't produce anymore so when you came, my dreams come true." "Wait for me here," her mom stood up and headed inside the house. She came back holding a golden chest. Her mom opened the chest and Roya was in awe when she saw what was inside. There's a black cloak with a golden witch hat emblem, a little white dress with her name embroidered in it and a pair of black shoes. "These are the clothes you were wearing the day we found you. From the looks of it, we already guessed what you are." "A witch? Am I a witch?" "Maybe, but it doesn't really matter. Anyway, your brother told us that aside from what happened yesterday, you were having a strange dream?" "Yes Dad. Are they gonna get me?" "We won't let them baby. We won't give you up." "But if I am a witch, then they must be witches and witches are powerful, right? They might want to get me now that's why I'm having these strange dreams and encounter." There was a long silence then her mom decided to broke it. She insisted Roya to get some rest while she prepares their lunch. Her Dad suggests that they stay together so they both headed to Roya's bedroom. "Raven." "Hmm?" "Did you knew?" He turned his gaze on Roya. "Knew what baby?" "That maybe I am a witch?" He just smiled and looked away. "Raven, answer me!" Raven let out a laugh. "Of course I knew it baby. We grew together. I saw you couple of times making- " he paused and looked at Roya again. "Making what Raven?" her heart begins to beat fast. Please don't say fire. Please! Please!> "Making fire, baby. You were making fire in your tiny hands. You also have this imaginary friend, you called him fiery. You talked to him almost every day." She was stunned. She can't remember those things or can she? "I thought they were just dreams. Why didn't you tell me, Raven?" "Because you're too young baby and I was scared that if you learn about your past, you will be gone. That is why I am so protective of you. We don't wanna lose you." he reached for her face and cupped it with his two hands. "I don't wanna lose you."
