"I don't wanna lose you."
Her heart beats faster even more. What is happening Roya? It's not like this is the first time he’s like this. He is always this sweet to you, or if not, even sweeter.>
He stared at her as if he is seeing her soul while slightly rubbing his thumb on her right cheek.
"Raven?"
He smiled at her and kissed her on her forehead. His lips were hot and moist.
"Raven, tell me, did I made the fire in the cafeteria?"
"I don't really know the answer to that question baby. Maybe you did or maybe you don't, or maybe someone did it to catch your attention."
"I am afraid Raven. What if they will come and get me?"
Raven closed the gap between them and hugged her. "We are always here for you baby. We won't let anyone hurt our Princess." she returned the hug as she was slowly closing her eyes and fall into a deep sleep.
The little girl just giggled. " Levi, come and get me," she was running in a beautiful rose garden.
"Roya, come back here. I have tons of work to do so stop running."
The girl continued to giggle. She thought to herself what a hotheaded sister she got. She decided to stop when she saw desperation in her sister's eyes. She wanted to play with her sister more but as a Queen, she has a lot to do.
"Roya, you still have your classes. Now, go and see Pearl."
"But sis, I want to play more."
"No buts. Go now and I promise that we will play later, okay?"
"Pinky promise?" then she raised her pinkie.
"Yes, pinky promise cheesecake," then the queen intertwined their pinkies.
After her class with Pearl, she decided to wait for Queen Levion at her bedroom. She didn't even bother to change her clothes as she lay in her bed. After waiting for hours, she was drifted into a deep slumber when loud noises jolted her awake.>
Roya woke up finding herself beside Raven. She dreams of it again, but this time there are conversations. She felt fear once more so she seeks for Raven's comfort. She stirred in her bed and stared at Raven.
He is peacefully sleeping and occasionally moving and making sleepy noises. She silently giggled upon hearing him talk in his sleep. She unconsciously lifted her right hand and caressed his left cheek.
“ROYA, you need to wake up.”
“Five more minutes Raven,” then she groaned.
“I’m sorry baby, you need to get up.”
She had no choice, as usual, but to obey so she stood and headed for the bathroom and did her morning rituals. She headed to the kitchen after fixing herself.
Raven immediately put a French toast on Roya’s plate.
“How are you feeling baby?” her heart skipped a beat.
“Huh?”
“I said, how are you feeling?”
“I’m good Raven,” she smiled faintly.
After their breakfast, Raven drove her to school. She headed to the cafeteria and waited for her first class. There, Alex greeted her.
“Hey Roya, how are you?”
“I’m good Alex, how about you?”
“Well, I’m still coping up. Hope it won’t happen again,” he said jokingly.
Before going to her first class, she went to the restroom and while peeing, she heard a squeal.
“Stop! Why are you doing this to me?” a voice of a girl said.
Then she heard a splash and girls laughing.
“Oops, my bad.”
She was supposed to go out the cubicle to help the girl who she thinks is being bullied when she heard a voice.
t’s you again. Tell me, who are you? And who is she? Show yourself to me, you coward!”>
Instead of giving more attention to the mystery voice, she headed out and saw a drenched girl sitting on the floor.
“Hey, are you alright?”
The girl just stared at her and looked down. When she tried to offer her hand, the girl stood and ran through the door.
“Wait!”
Her morning classes went by smoothly. She is now having her lunch with Alex when she saw the drenched girl from the restroom passing by.
She excused herself from Alex and decided to follow the girl, thinking that she might be bullied again.
She is in the middle of following the girl when the familiar voice echoed in her ears once more.
"Don't follow her."
“Stop bugging me, coward!” she said it out loud resulting to Amber noticing her presence.
She awkwardly smiled at her and said “Hi.”
Because of the girl’s fear, she ran away from Roya.
She was about to follow her again when the mystery voice talked to her again.
“Stranger? You are the stranger one here and I shouldn’t trust you, coward!”
“Who are you talking too Roya?”
Roya was startled hearing Alex’s voice from her behind.
“Uh, it’s nothing Alex,” then she faked a laugh.
“You’re not seeing something again, right? Roya?”
“No, of course not. Come, our next class is about to start,” she faked a laugh again.
THE next day, she’s currently on her first class when their professor announced that they will be having a transferee from the other block.
She was surprise to see the bullied girl entered their classroom.
“Hi everyone, I’m Amber,” the girl said then looked down.
“She’s a bit shy. Amber, you can sit beside Ms. Prescott,” the professor said and pointed at the chair beside Roya.
When Amber sat beside her, she smiled awkwardly and approached her.
“Hi, you probably remember me.”
Amber just nodded and looked down.
Time had passed, it is time for their lunch. Roya faced Amber and invited her to eat with them.
“Amber, join us for lunch.”
“No, I’m okay,” she refused.
“Come on, Amber. Don’t be shy,” Alex convinced her.
Amber just heaved a sigh and followed them quietly.
“So, how are you? Can you tell me something interesting?” Alex continues talking to her.
“I’m not an interesting person.”
Alex just laughed awkwardly and continue their walk. While walking to the temporary cafeteria, they bumped into the girls that bullied Amber so she hid behind Roya and Alex’s back.
The girl in the middle laughed. “Did you really think you can get away just by being there?”
“Whoa, chill girls. What is happening?”
“Oh! Mr. President, don’t you know that girl hiding behind you is not as good as you think she is?”
“What do you mean?” confusion was written on Roya and Alex’s face which earns a laugh from the mean girls.
“Just wait and see, my dear,” then the girls left.
Roya faced Amber and held her shoulders to comfort her.
“Don’t mind them.”
“HEY Amber, where do you live?” she thought that if she lives nearby, they can drop her off.
“I live faraway,” she simply answered and bowed a little.
“O-kay?” Maybe she’s not yet ready to open up.>
Roya totally understand her because she was just like her. In her seventeen years of existence, she only befriended one person and that is Alex.
“See you tomorrow girls,” Alex waved and winked at them.
“Amber, see you tomorrow.”
“Hey, I am your best friend. You should bid goodbye to me first.”
“Ooh, someone’s jealous.”
Roya’s phone buzzed and it was Raven telling her that he is already at the school parking lot.
“Gotta go guys. Raven’s already waiting for me.”
She hurriedly went to the parking lot.
“What took you so long baby?”
“Uh, I made friends?”
“You mean, other than Alex?”
“Yes, and I hope she accepts.”
“You should invite her over. I want to meet your new found friend,” and they headed home.
Roya’s morning classes went by without Amber. She doesn’t like what she is feeling.
“Ms. Prescott,” the teacher suddenly called her.
“Uh, yes Sir?”
“Can you answer this problem?” she looked at the white board to see the question. Good thing, she was listening earlier.
After their class, she talked to Alex about Amber’s absence. They decided to look separately for her in the school premises.
She was walking around the greenhouse when she heard a soft cry. She looked around the area to find where that cry is coming from.
She saw the back of the girl facing her. She was pretty sure that it is Amber.
“Hey,” the girl was startled and was about to ran when Roya held her wrist.
“What happen?” she tried to look onto Amber’s face. There, she saw some bruises on her face.
“Who did this to you?” instead of answering, Amber just shook her head.
“Let’s go to the clinic Amber,” she took out her phone and dialed Alex’s number.
“We are headed for the clinic. Let’s meet there.”
“Okay, see you,” then she ended the call.
The nurse immediately attended to Amber upon seeing her.
“What happen?” Alex asked.
“Still have no idea. I saw her crying and when I looked at her, she has bruises.”
“Do you think those girls yesterday did that to her?”
“It’s a possibility. We need to report this.”
“No need for that Roya.”
“No Amber, this needs to stop.”
“I’m okay. Please let’s not make this a big issue.”
Roya just stayed silent. Maybe they threaten her.
"Don’t trust her Roya."
It’s you again coward. Get out of my mind.>
Roya is now used to talking to the mystery voice in her head. She is still curious why is she hearing voices and why is it against Amber. She is not dangerous; she can’t even defend herself.
“Let’s just drop you off your house Amber,” Alex suggested.
“I live far away and I can take care of myself but thank you.”
Roya and Alex just looked at each other and waited for Amber’s next move.
“At least let us escort you to the front gate,” Amber just nodded.
The next day, she tried approaching Amber who is obviously distant. Alex tried to talk to her but she didn’t respond.
“Come on Amber. We kept what happen yesterday a secret. Don’t we deserve your attention?”
“Just eat with us,” Roya tried to convince her.
“Okay,” she finally talked back.
They were trying to break Amber’s ice wall and little by little, they know that they are succeeding.
“And you know what Amber, there’s this one time that Roya tried to ride the roller coaster,”
“Oh my gosh Alex, stop! That was a nightmare.”
“Oh come on, don’t be a kill joy. As I was saying, she thought that she’s up for the challenge. When the ride ended, she puked,” then Alex laughed.
“Very funny Alex,” then she rolled her eyes.
“I wish I know what roller coaster is,” the two immediately looked at Amber.
“You haven’t been in an amusement park,” Amber just shook her head. “We can go there if you are free?”
“How about this weekend?” Amber smiled and nodded.
“Roya, I’m sorry I have some errands on the weekend.”
“We can postpone and go there some other time,” Amber told them and bowed her head again.
Although Roya was hesitant to go without Alex, she doesn’t want to let Amber down. This is her chance of having a friend other than Alex.
“No, it’s totally fine,” she stated which earns a gasp from Alex.
“Is it really you Roya?” he even teasingly checked her temperature using the back of his hand.
“Very funny Alex,” she rolled her eyes, again.
“You are very lucky Amber, aside from me, you are the only person she talks to with her real personality.”
“Are you saying I have multiple personality?”
“What I’m saying is, you are socially awkward and don’t know how to make friend.”
“You are really insulting me,” for the third time, Roya rolled her eyes which earns a laugh from Alex and Amber.
