He had asked the question as usual, hoping to take my time maybe but was shocked at my response. A smile formed on his face as he looked at me, unbelief in his eyes. Well…. I knew I had to assure him.
“Where would you be by lunch time?” I questioned. He stared at me, looking so confused. I could tell he had not expected it.
“Science block” He answered as he stared at me on disbelief. “I will join you” I informed him and he simply nodded as he still could not process what I had said. I walked away quickly as there were some important things I had to tend to.
During lunch time, I walked up to the science block, and there he was, a smile on his face as he really could not believe what had happened. He could not believe I had changed
Well….. I had not.
“Thank you for coming” He smiled at me and I simply nodded. we walked to the cafeteria together. As we sat down to eat, I noticed a strange tension in the air.
"What's going on?" I asked, sensing that something was off.
He hesitated before replying. "There's been a series of attacks on the outskirts of the school. Werewolves have been disappearing, and nobody knows why."
My heart raced as I heard his words. "Do you know who's behind it?"
Jake shook his head. "Not yet, but we're trying to figure it out. I'm part of a group that's investigating the attacks."
I felt a sudden surge of respect for him. As expected, students gazed at us, specifically me as they walked past us. I was not bothered anyway. Finn was brave and selfless. To volunteer for such? He was indeed brave.
As we finished our lunch, Finn leaned in close to me. "Listen, I need to show you something. Meet me at the forest edge tonight at midnight. Don't tell anyone else, okay?"
Now, that was strange. We had barely known each other. How then was I supposed to trust him?
Just like he saw the look of worry on my face, he smiled “You do not have to be worried. I promise not to hurt or harm you” He assured.
I nodded, feeling curious and apprehensive at the same time. What could he want to show me?
I could not take my mind off his thoughts. What could be want to show me? I thought but hem decided to let it slide.
That night, I snuck out of my dorm room and made my way to the forest edge. Finn was waiting for me, and he led me deep into the woods
As we walked through the woods, the moonlight shone down on us, casting eerie shadows on the trees. I felt a shiver run down my spine, sensing that something was about to happen.
"Where are we going on and what is going on?” I questioned as I followed him like a fool. Gaining trust in someone had always been quite difficult for me. This one was even worse..
Finn stopped walking and turned to face me. "I need to show you something," he said, his voice serious.
He took a step closer to me and extended his hand. "Trust me, okay?” I nodded and watched his walk to a tree few steps ahead as he picked up a weapon. I gasped on sighting as I was quite scared. I hoped within him that he had not come to hurt me.
“You need to know the truth.”
"The truth?" I repeated, feeling confused.
He took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm part of a group of werewolves who are trying to stop the attacks on our kind. We believe that there's a rogue pack behind it, and we're trying to find out who they are and stop them."
I stared at him, still trying to process what he was saying. "And what does that have to do with me?"
Finn hesitated before answering. "I think you're special, and I think you could help us. Your senses are stronger than most werewolves, and we could use your help in tracking down the rogue pack."
I felt a jolt of surprise at his words. I had always felt different from other werewolves, but I never thought that it could be useful.
"I'll think about it," I said, not sure if I was ready for such a responsibility.
Jake nodded, sensing my hesitation. "Take your time. But know that we need all the help we can get if we want to stop the attacks."
As we made our way back to the school, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and fear. The world of werewolves was much bigger than I had ever imagined, and I wasn't sure if I was ready for it.
Next Chapter
The next few days at school were a blur. I couldn't stop thinking about what Finn had said to me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was somehow connected to the attacks on werewolves.
I tried to focus on my studies, but my mind kept wandering. I was so lost in thought that I didn't even notice when someone approached me.
"Hey, you're the new girl, right?" a voice asked.
I looked up to see a group of werewolves standing in front of me. They were all older and bigger than me, and I felt a twinge of fear.
"Yeah, that's me," I said, trying to sound confident.
One of the werewolves stepped forward, his eyes locked on mine. "We heard you've been hanging out with Finn" he said, his voice laced with anger.
I felt my heart rate increase. "Yeah, we're friends," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
The werewolf snarled, taking a step closer to me. "You need to stay away from him. He's trouble, and anyone who associates with him is asking for trouble too."
I could feel my anger building. "What's your problem with him?" I asked, my voice rising.
The werewolf sneered. "He's a traitor. He's working with the humans, and he's putting all of our lives in danger."
I felt a surge of confusion. "What are you talking about? He is not a traitor," I said, defending my friend.
The werewolf shook his head. "You're naive. You have no idea what's going on. But mark my words, if you don't stay away from him, you'll regret it."
