Chapter 4

Alpha Andrew’s POV

                I was in my office go over paperwork for the construction projects I was working on for one of my hotels, we are gutting out and revamping the restaurant I got a mindlink from Max. “Alpha, there was a situation down here. It involves Andy and her friends with another she-wolf. I am bringing them to your office.”  What! What happened, is Andrea okay? “She fine Alpha for the most part”.  Max who was the she-wolf? “Tiffany. She ended up with a broken nose” Max, send her to the infirmary. Bring the kids to me. “Yes, Alpha!”  I cut the mindlink. I exhale, and I look at Maribel’s photo on my desk. “Oh, baby what am I supposed to do? Right about now I could use your sage advice.”

                There was a knock at the door. “come in Max” Alpha.  “Drop the formalities Max, what happened?”  Andrew, I didn’t see everything, but my understanding Tiffany said something about Luna. I groan, I run my hand through hair. “I thought the bullying had stopped.” You know how levelheaded your daughter is, it takes a lot for her to break character. All I am saying is just go easy on the kids Andrew.  I nod.

Andrea’s POV

                We were standing outside my dad’s office, while Max was bringing my dad up to speed. I turn to Finn and Jen “I never going to hear the end of this”. Why do I always let her get the best of me I thought. Listen you didn’t do anything wrong, that’s the truth! I just roll my eyes. The door to my dad’s office opens, we all stand. I am staring out the ground I can’t look at him. My dad clears his throat.   “Ahem…Finn, Jennifer you’re excused. Go on about your business. Andrea inside.” Everyone takes off giving the look of be strong, you got this. I enter my dad’s office and take a sit on one of the guest chairs facing his desk. “Do you have anything to say for yourself?”  I am pretty sure you already know I mumble.  “Bug, I know this is hard for you, but you can’t go around punching people.”  You don’t know what she said dad! I can take the bullying, I can anything that gets thrown my way. People can talk about me all they want, spread rumors, I don’t care! The one thing I won’t stand for his someone disgracing mama’s memory. I try and blink back the tears from falling.

My dad comes from behind his desk and pulls me up into hug and the dam breaks. “Shh, bug I got you.”  It’s not fair! I push him away, how could you let this happen! You should’ve been there! You could’ve saved her! “ Bug…”  No! You don’t get to try and downplay what I am feeling.  “Andrea! That’s enough!  He uses his Alpha tone; I have no choice but to submit. “I know you’re are hurting, so am I! I lost my mate!”  He shuts his eyes and takes a long breath before he speaks again.  “I am sorry Andrea, I failed her, and I failed you. I know sometimes you look at me and wish it was me that was gone instead of your mother. Hell, I wish it were me.”  I have only seen my dad cry once my entire life. Staring at him all I see is a broken man. I rush to put my arms around him. I am so sorry papa; I am so sorry. He starts to rub my back; “shh, its okay.” After a few minutes of silence, I break away from my dad. I know I shouldn’t have let Tiffany get to me; I promise to do better. He just nods. I love you papa… “I love you too”
