Weak

{Amara’s POV} I remember the scent of candles.. the feeling of wax melting into my hair, and onto my flesh. I remember Kade chasing me.. a sharp pain in my back, turning and seeing him there with the knife. This place.. this place I don’t remember. As I looked outside I could see an unfamiliar cityscape, but even here inside of the home I was in, it was something I didn’t recall. I was in a living room, dark black and blue stone walls, with black and blue couches, and chairs. Furniture from a dining room in the same colors, a fireplace that was lit with a blue flame. Blue lights that lit up the whole area, I didn’t know where I was, but I felt the urge to run.. to hide. Instead, I just froze, my knees buckling as I fell to the ground. He stabbed me.. Kade.. he attacked me.. he killed me.. didn’t he? Am I dead? Is this what waits on the other side? I felt tears sliding down my face before I knew I was crying. I pulled myself up, walking through the unfamiliar home, until I found a balcony, it led outside, where snow had begun to fall. I stepped out, my bare feet instantly chilling me to the bone. I walked closer to the edge, looking down below. Pitch black shadows seemed to be swirling at the foot of the building. I couldn’t see the bottom. I pulled back, walking to a chair that had been set out on the balcony, and pulled my knees to my chest. I sat there for what felt like forever, as I cried, allowing all of the bitter sadness to ooze out of me. I heard someone clear their throat, but I didn’t care enough to even look, until I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I looked up, seeing that I had been coated in snow, a massive man with greyish blue skin, dark blue hair, and pale blue eyes knelt in front of me. “What are you doing here, I thought you were with Evander?” He asked. “Who? Who’s Evander.. who are you? How do you know me? Where am I?” I cried, looking up at him. He looked confused, looking over my face as though trying to study me. “You don’t remember me? Or Evander?” He asked. “I brought you here, remember?” I shook my head. “I just opened my eyes.. and I was here.. the last thing I remember is..” I winced, anxiety rising in my body. “K-Kade..” I gasped, launching myself into the man’s arms. “Am I dead?” I asked, holding onto him as though he were a lifeline. “Yes.. you’re dead.. this is.. it doesn’t matter. The point is you’re here, and we need to find Evander, maybe he’ll know what’s going on.” He sighed, pulling me against him. “You’re freezing.. you shouldn’t be out here in the cold.” As we walked back inside the snow began to melt, and I felt warmth spread around me. “What’s your name?” He asked, walking further into the house with me in his arms. He grabbed a blanket, pulling it around me, and readjusting me in his arms. “Amara..” I said softly, looking into his pale blue eyes. “Amara LeVall, and you are?” I asked. “Zorin.” He smiled softly, “Were going to go find my brother Evander.. he’ll know what to do.” I nodded, wrapping my arms around his thick neck. “O-Okay.. thank you Zorin.” I said, lying my head in the crook of his neck. “No problem Amara.” He replied, as he opened a door, and we began walking down a black corridor. Suddenly we came to a stop, like he’d been frozen in place. I heard my own voice on down the hallway, and turned to look. I could see a massive man with pale skin, white hair, and glowing gold eyes walking towards me.. well, her.. but she is me, isn’t she? I tried to shake away the confusion, but I couldn’t it settled across me and all I could do was watch. There was a red woman behind her, and two small grey and blue men. She turned to the large man stalking towards them and shouted up at him. “Don’t make me put you through another wall as*****!” She screamed out, her cries filling every inch of the hallway. She dropped to her knees, a broken look on her face. “NO!” She screamed even louder, the windows in the hallway all shattering at once. Then, the red woman hit her on the back of her head, causing her to fall to the side, her eyes blinking slowly. I saw the large man getting up again, walking closer to her. “Don’t.. hurt.. Vael..” She whimpered, her eyes finally deciding to stay shut for now. I looked over to Zorin, who looked between me and the other me lying on the ground. “What the hells is going on here?” He asked. They all turned towards us, looking to me in Zorin’s arms. “How is she..” the woman asked. She had red hair, pale red skin, and ruby red eyes. The white haired man scanned over me, and looked back to the version of me on the ground. The small blue man flew over to me, nuzzling up to my chest. “Oh thank goodness you’re okay!” He sighed, relief filling his expression. “W-Who are you? Where am I?” I asked looking back to Zorin. “I don’t understand.. this doesn’t make any sense.. that’s.. that’s me..” I whimpered, pushing my way out of Zorin’s arms and walking over to the unconscious woman on the ground. “This is me..” I cried, reaching down and brushing the hair back from her face. She began to stir, waking up and looking up to me. “You’re.. me..” she groaned, looking over me. Tears streamed down my face as I cupped hers in my hands. “You’re me..” I said, looking over her. “I’m so sorry!” I cried, pulling her into a hug. “It’s all my fault.. I was too weak.. I was too afraid that we’d be alone..” She pushed me backwards before standing and brushing herself off. “You’re right! You are weak!” She sneered, looking around to all of the people around us. “What mess have you gotten us into now?” She asked, her eyes glaring back to me, and venom oozing out of her voice.
