Chapter Two: Lost, but.

At the same time, the young man, too, felt a strange, inexplicable sensation in his chest. He didn’t understand why his heart was pounding so fiercely or why he felt an overwhelming urge to gaze into her wide, compassionate eyes. There was a connection, something unspoken, that pulled him toward her, even though the storm within him was far from over. As he cried, she felt a tremor in his grip, as if he sensed her hesitation. He lifted his head slightly and looked into her eyes, silently asking, "Why won’t you let me go?" Malak took a deep breath, and despite the chaos within her, she spoke softly, "I can’t leave you... but you need to understand that I’m here only to help." Her words carried confusion, pain, and uncertainty, but they also carried hope. She tried to gently pull her hand away, but he refused to release it, holding onto her as though she was all that remained in that moment. Deep within her, she knew that if she let go now, he might not find the strength to move on. It was a pivotal moment, where all the complexities of human emotion—inner conflict, compassion, and the need for understanding—came together. And as the rain grew heavier, her heart was torn between her principles and her desire to offer help. The place was immersed in a heavy silence. Malak and the stranger stood in silence, filled with confusion. Their eyes met, each lost in new emotions, filled with bewilderment and anxiety. Neither of them could explain what the other was feeling, but deep down, they both knew something extraordinary was happening. At that moment, a Korean girl approached them quickly. It was Miso, Malak’s friend, who didn’t understand what was happening with her friend, who was sitting with a stranger on the wet ground. As she got closer, an expression of excitement spread across her face. Her eyes were shining with joy, as if she had discovered something incredible. She suddenly stopped and shouted loudly. "Jeon?!" Her eyes widened in astonishment. She was approaching them rapidly, as if she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Meanwhile, the young man, who had been facing Malak just moments before, suddenly covered his face with his hands in an attempt to hide. He felt uneasy as he saw Miso quickly pull out her phone to take a picture of him. "No... don't do that!" said Jeon a low voice, trying to move away from the lens that was getting closer to him. But Miso didn't care. It was a rare moment for her. The admiration was evident on her face, and everything around her seemed unimportant. As she focused on taking the picture, Malak looked at her friend hesitantly, as if trying to understand what was happening. "Miso, no!" Malak said firmly, gently pulling her friend's hand, trying to stop her from taking the picture. But Miso, who was immersed in her excitement, looked at her for a moment, then replied loudly, "But this is Jeon! A Korean star! I can't miss this opportunity!" Malak was deeply confused, as everything that was happening between Miso and Jeon was in a language she didn’t understand. Words were scattered in Korean, and her eyes were watching the scene in complete bewilderment. At that moment, Jeon suddenly decided to run, darting away into the darkness. "Wait!" Malak cried, trying to catch up with him. But she failed, as Jeon was faster, quickly disappearing into the dark. Malak tried to follow his steps, but her feet betrayed her. She tripped and fell to the ground, feeling a sharp headache and losing consciousness for a moment. Malak sat up slowly, trying to regain her composure. The pain in her legs was still sharp, but her thoughts were racing faster. She looked around again, hoping for some sign of Jeon , but the night remained still and silent. The only sound was her heavy breathing and the soft rustle of the wind in the distance. Miso, who had been standing silently, watching Malak with concern, finally spoke up. "Malak, are you okay?" Her voice was soft, filled with worry. Malak nodded slowly, still trying to make sense of what had just happened. "I... I don't know. I think I’m fine. It’s just... everything happened so fast." Her eyes lingered on the empty space where Jeon had been, and she felt a strange emptiness in her chest. Miso sat down beside her, her excitement from earlier fading as she noticed her friend’s distress. "What just happened? Who was that guy?" she asked, her tone now gentle, as if trying to understand the situation. Malak took a deep breath, her gaze still lost in the darkness. "His name is Jeon ... he's a Korean star. But there’s something about him. I don't know why, but I felt... connected to him in a way. Like something unspoken between us." Miso's eyes widened, still processing the information. "So, you know him? You’ve met him before?" Malak shook her head slowly. "No, I’ve never met him. I don’t even know if he knows me... but it felt different, like there was more to this moment than I can explain." She paused, her voice trembling slightly. "But now he’s gone. And I don’t know why I feel like I’ve lost something important." Miso didn't know how to respond, so she sat quietly, unsure of what to say. The silence stretched on between them, the weight of the situation hanging in the air. Finally, Malak stood up with a determined look in her eyes, though her legs still hurt. "I need to find him, Miso. I need to understand what just happened." Miso looked at her, uncertainty written all over her face. "But... what if he doesn't want to be found? What if he's already gone for good?" Malak didn’t answer immediately. She just looked back at the darkness, her heart racing with a mixture of fear and hope. "I have to try," she said softly, more to herself than to Miso. "Because whatever this is, it’s not over yet." With that, she began to walk towards the spot where Jeon had disappeared, leaving Miso behind, still unsure of what was unfolding but knowing one thing for certain: things were about to change.
