Jessica’s POV
My heart raced in an incredible beat as I watched him struggle to breathe properly from shock.
Bending down a bit, I grabbed his arm and guided him to stand up properly. Looking at him in the eyes, I remained calm and guided him to breathe. “Take a deep breath and exhale.”
He nodded his head and momentarily closed his eyes to calm his nerves.
“Yes, just like that,” I added when I saw him taking deep breaths.
As he started calming down, I let go of him and let him take his time.
Opening his eyes, he sighed, swallowed the lump in his throat, and pantingly said, “They hit us hard…”
