Jessica’s POV
“Hey, it’s over. Are you okay?”
I felt Zane’s arms wrapping around me, his hand on my shoulder giving me a light squeeze of comfort.
Letting my body lean on him a little, I looked around the forest and met the countless dead bodies around us pooled with blood. The rusty scent of it was still lingering in the air, and their screams were still vivid in my ears.
It wasn’t only Ralph and the Rogues that perished today. Some of the kingdom’s people were also slaughtered, and some of the White Clan members were injured.
As a member of the White Clan, I had been in countless battles, fighting Rogues after Rogues to aid the packs that were being suppressed, but it had never been this bloody and gruesome.
The fight we had today was too much. It’s an all-or-nothing kind of fight.
