Intermezzo III There are legends and then there are dragon legends. The first are sometimes true, rooted in reality or some occurrence that did happen but which was exaggerated throughout the ages, usually for some storyteller’s benefit. The second, however, are so fantastic, so strange, that they must be seen to be believed, but one can never vouch for their truth because the dragon legends are so old, far older than humanity and elvenhood—but not old enough for dragons to forget.
