CHAPTER 2
Sal and Micky pulled into the drive of the address Alex had given them, for Mrs. Mabel Wind. They looked around the neighborhood as they walked to the front door. The door opened before they knocked. A pretty, young lady stood smiling at them.
“Hi,” she said smiling at them.
Sal frowned at her. “Do you always open the door before finding out who is there?” he asked.
The girl flushed. “No, Mom told me the agents from Avorn were coming. You are from Avorn, aren’t you?” She looked slightly worried.
“Yes, we are from Avorn,” said Micky. “If someone is watching you, you could have been snatched before anyone could have done anything, and no one would have known what had happened to you.”
