CHAPTER 7: A New Signing

441 Words
Chris's POV: As I walked through the university halls, my mind was still on Philip. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to him, something that he was hiding. But I didn't want to push him, not yet. I found myself at the university parking lot where my Matte Black Lamborghini Aventador was park. I decided not to go to my apartment and drive straight to our house. I needed some time to think, plus I miss my little brother. As the huge gates opened, I turned the corner, I saw my little brother Sean waiting for me. He was grinning from ear to ear, his backpack slung over one shoulder. "Hey, big bro!" he exclaimed, running up to me and giving me a hug. "Did you hear the news?" "What news?" I asked, ruffling his hair. "Dad just signed this really famous male singer," he said, bouncing up and down. "Everyone's talking about him. He's supposed to be amazing." I felt a pang of jealousy. My father's talent agency was one of the biggest in the country, and he was always signing new talent. But I had to admit, this one sounded like a big deal. "Who is he?" I asked, trying to keep my voice neutral. "His name is Marco," Sean said. "And apparently he's been making waves in the music industry. Dad's really excited about him." I nodded, feeling a sense of resignation. My father was always looking for the next big thing, always chasing after success. But sometimes I felt like he didn't see the value in the smaller, more personal moments in life. As we walked towards our next class, I couldn't help but think about Philip again. He was different from the other students, more reserved and guarded. But there was something about him that drew me in, something that made me want to know him better. As I took my seat in the lecture hall, I glanced at my phone and saw a message from my father. It was about Marco, of course. He wanted me to attend a meeting with him later that week to discuss the singer's future. I sighed, feeling the weight of my family's expectations pressing down on me. But then I thought about Philip, and I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe he could understand what it was like to have a double life, to have to hide who you really are. I couldn't wait to see him again, to try and get to know him better. Maybe he was the key to unlocking my true self, to finding my own way in this crazy world.
