The pain in my belly got worse, and I doubled over clutching my stomach as waves of sharp cramps coursed through my body.
My phone slipped from my hand and fell onto the bed beside me as I tried to breathe through the pain, but it only seemed to intensify with each passing second.
"No. No. No." I whispered frantically as I pressed my hands against my stomach. "Please be okay, baby. Please."
The cramping continued, and I felt a cold sweat break out across my forehead. Something was wrong. This wasn't normal. I needed help.
I grabbed my phone with shaking hands and called for a taxi. The driver said it would be fifteen minutes, but every second felt like an eternity as I sat on the edge of my bed trying not to panic.
