Over the next few days, we spent some time studying explosives learning about different types of ordinance and their characteristics. We would never actually handle explosives - that was the job of Special Ops and the Rangers. We were simply given an introduction. The day following this training was critical as we were prepared for ‘night fire’. The conditions of battle seemed harrowing enough, but the idea of exchanging fire at night is one that no words could accurately describe.
