Heart Broken

Zoey’s POV Although I was annoyed with Tate, I wanted to make sure that Joey was okay. “So, how is it having a real boyfriend?” “Great,” She smiled. “It’s unexpected but wonderful.” “You seem happy.” Chloey squeezed her hand.  “And he’s...nice to you?”  I questioned. “Of course he is.” Joey laughed. “Why?” “Tate just said that Marsden was dangerous or something. I just wanted to make sure you’re okay.” “Tate is much too concerned with my relationship when he needs to be worried about his own.” I agreed with her, but there was something kind of odd about Marsden. Maybe it was that he looked a lot like his father who had ruined Tate’s life. Though he had done those horrible things with our father, so we probably didn’t have the right to judge him. And neither did Tate. *** I was kind of throwing myself into my relationship with Zander. I felt guilty for still having feelings for Tate, so I thought to make up for that I should be extra invested in my relationship. Every day I found myself falling deeper in with Zander, so I must be doing something right. "I love being with you." Zander whispered as he kissed me intensely.    "I feel the same way. " I whispered back. I would also love being with Tate. Ugh where do these stupid thoughts even come from? I had to get rid of them.   My hands completely took over. I was taking off mine and Zander’s clothes at an alarming rate. The more we kissed and the farther I took things the further Tate got from my mind. I liked it. I pulled Zander on top of me. I loved feeling his skin against mine. I could feel him trying to control himself, but I didn’t want that at all.  I guided his hand inside of my underwear. I gasped as he slowly slid his finger inside of me. It felt so good. It made me want him more.  I moaned loudly as he started going faster. He didn’t stop kissing me for one moment. I shoved my hand in his boxers.    "Zoey, babe. This is getting a little intense." Zander  said, breathing heavily. He didn't seem to be complaining about that.  "Should we slow down?"   "No." I breathed. "Don't you wanna keep going?"   "Yeah, but I don't want to pressure you."   "Don't you want me?"   "More than anything." The way he was looking at me confirmed that.   "No pressure then." I kissed him hard. "Just promise me you'll go slow."   "Are you sure you're ready? Don't you have that dinner?"   "Yeah." In the moment I truly did feel ready. It was the only thing I wanted.  "I can be late."   "I'll go slow."  Zander murmured.  He unhooked my bra and I suddenly felt very vulnerable. I had never been this naked with anyone else. Zander gently massaged my breasts and groaned in satisfaction.  My hands gripped the sheets as Zander entered me a little too quickly.  “Slower,” I begged. He listened and kissed me passionately. My eyes rolled back as pleasure rippled through my entire body. I had never felt so wanted and adored. “Zoey…” Zander whimpered as our fingers intertwined. “You’re beautiful.” I responded with a low moan. Zander was inside me completely. He was all I could feel. It was like we were in a whole other world.  I dragged my nails down his back, causing him to cry out. I loved how crazy I made him. He buried his head in the crook of my neck. His heavy breathing was incredibly sexy to me.  “Oh Zander, right there.” I breathed.  Zander wrapped my legs around him and started thrusting faster. I knew the end was coming. I didn’t want that, but also the thought of him not being able to hold off was satisfying.  “I’m close.” He choked out.  I nodded. “Do it babe.” Zander let out an elongated groan before gasping. He brushed my hair out of my face. “How was it babe?” Considering I hadn’t thought of Tate once? I smiled. “Perfect.” Chloey’s POV Where was Zoey? She’s never late. I looked at Joey to see if she was feeling the same thing, but she looked on edge and antsy. She’s like that when she misses Marsden.  “So, I will be hosting a Yuletide party for our little club.” Director Magnus announced. “You are allowed to bring a plus one! There will be many well known witches and wizards there, so this will be a great opportunity to network.” I was going to ask Rune. The door swung open and in walked Zoey. She was smoothing out her hair. “I apologize for being late.” She flashed Director Magnus an embarrassed smile as she sat down next to Joey. “Not a problem at all, Zoey. I’m sure Mr. Craft sends his best along with you?” Director Magnus chuckled. “He does.” Zoey giggled, causing Tate to roll his eyes. After the dinner, we pulled Zoey aside.  “What were you and Zander doing?” Joey asked. “Having s*x?” Zoey’s eyes widened.  “Oh, my goodness! Zoey, that’s fast isn’t it?” I asked. “s*x is not that big of a deal.” Joey assured me. “As long as Zander was nice about it, I say good job and good riddance to Tate!” “Yeah, he was wonderful.” Zoey smiled.  “Um, I’m tired.” I said bluntly. “Goodnight.” I was sick of being the odd one out with my sisters. I was now the only virgin among my sisters and I didn’t have a boyfriend either. Was something wrong with me? *** I enjoyed the walk to The Underground. Though the path was near some kind of creepy woods, it was still a great view.  “So, I hear you guys are having a fancy Yuletide party?” Rune asked.  “Yeah, we are. And we get to bring someone,” I smiled. “Would you like to go with me?” “Me?” I nodded. “Like a date?” “Or not...whatever you’re comfortable with.” “Yeah, a date. That sounds great.” I smiled all the way to the club. We all split up again. I stayed with Rune while my sisters went with their boyfriends.  Rune and I danced together and laughed. He was also holding my hand and had his arm around me. I had a great feeling about the night. I think I’d get my first kiss.  I went to get a drink and Cade approached me. “You look really hot tonight.” “Yeah, thanks.” I forced a smile. “I like your hair like this.” He tucked my hair behind my ear. “Cade, please! I’m here with Rune.” “You sure about that? He seems otherwise occupied.” I looked back and my heart broke. Rune had his arms wrapped around Lavina and was kissing her wildly. A strange burst of confidence came over me. I think it had to do with the anger. I stomped over to them. I tapped Rune’s shoulder. He pulled away from Lavina and his eyes widened. “Chloey, this isn’t-” “I’m going back to school!” I turned around as tears filled my eyes. My sisters and their boyfriends offered to walk me back. I felt bad since they were having fun.  “Chloey!” Rune called. “Just talk to me!” I grabbed my sisters’ hands before turning around. “You don’t have to go to the party with me. I don’t think your girlfriend would like that.” “Can we just talk?”  “Look man, she’s clearly upset right now, she needs space.” Marsden stated.  “Yeah, we’re just trying to get back to the castle.” Zander added in.  “I want to talk to her.” Rune said firmly.  “Rune, go now!” I felt an electric surge through my body. I was shocked when a blue forcefield appeared around me and my sisters. I wasn’t sure how we did it.  Rune reached out and touched it and was thrown back. He landed hard in the snow.  “Rune, are you okay?” Tate ran up to him.  “Yeah. I fell.” Rune whispered.  The forcefield disappeared and me and my sisters stared at each other before hurrying back to the castle.  We didn’t mention the forcefield again. Joey’s POV I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on! Both of my sister’s hearts had been broken and I was afraid mine was on the way too.  I didn’t think Marsden wanted to hurt me, but like Keene said he had a complicated life and I guess he just wasn’t ready to let me in on it. But now that I was his girlfriend it was like I had to know. Maybe just asking him straight up wouldn’t work. Maybe I had to use a different tactic. “So someone is pretty upset about you and I dating.” I informed Marsden. “Who?” “Tate Highmore.” “What the f**k? Why?” “He says that you’re dangerous. That I shouldn’t be around you. Do you know why that is?” “Because he hates me. He always has. Our dads were rivals and so we always were. It got worse after my dad went down for his dad’s murder.” “So, it’s just because he hates you then? No other reason?” “Are you trying to ask me something Jo?” Marsden finally looked at me. “Not exactly because everytime I ask you don’t answer.” I sighed. “Marsden, why won’t you let me in?” “I do! You know more about me than anyone else.” “Not Keene.” “Well, he’s been my best friend all my life. Baby, what is the problem?” “We’re dating now...for real and I want you to let me in completely. I mean we still havent even had sex.” I groaned.  “Is that the problem?” He grinned. “That’s all you had to say.” Marsden kissed me softly as he pushed against me. I fell down on the bed with him on top of me.  “You think you can have s*x with me and I’ll forget about this conversation?” I murmured.  “It’s worth a try, huh?” He grinned, kissing me again. All the anxiety and concern I had exited my body. It was being replaced with passion and yearning. My body needed Marsden. His strong hands moved over my body slowly as though savoring the moment.  I sighed as I felt his lips dance along my neck.  “You know I’d do anything for you right?” He whispered against my skin. “I’d die for you.” That was intense. “I would die for you too.” I breathed. I knew it was crazy, but I also knew I meant it.  Marsden kissed me on the lips again as he slowly removed our clothes. When I first met him, I never imagined we would have s*x like this. Slow and intimate. I thought it would be rough and fast. But I also never imagined falling for him.  There was a knock on the door. “Go away!” Marsden called.  “It’s Keene, we gotta talk!” Keene hissed.  Marsden got off of me and pulled his pants back on before opening the door a crack. All I could hear was whispering. Marsden turned back to me. “Joey...I um. I gotta go.” “What? Marsden we were in the middle of something.” “I know, baby, but I have to go for like an hour or two and then I’ll be back.” “I’m not gonna sit around for two hours while you go and do whatever. Is it another girl? Is that it?” “No, of course not!” “So what is it?” I demanded.  “I can’t tell you.” “Marsden I’ve told you things I’ve never told anyone else and you can’t even trust me the same way.” “I’ll lose you if I tell you.” He whispered.  “You might lose me if you don’t. I um...I think I need time to figure out if this relationship is good for us. For me.” “Baby, please. Jo, don’t go.” Marsden begged.  “I have to.” I pulled on my clothes and walked out, wondering if I was going to be the next to have my heart broken.
