The three of them settled into a cozy movie night in the villa’s spacious living room after dinner. Soft lighting glowed from the recessed fixtures while a light action-comedy played on the large screen. Lily was curled up on one end of the massive sectional sofa with a bowl of popcorn, laughing at every silly scene. Alexander sat in the middle, trying his best to appear relaxed, while Mia had claimed the other end, close enough to occasionally brush her foot against his leg under a shared blanket.
Lily yawned widely as the credits began to roll. “That was fun, but I’m wiped. All that sun and snorkeling knocked me out. Night, you two. Don’t stay up too late plotting world domination.”
She hugged them both and disappeared into her bedroom, closing the door with a soft click.
