“IT’S NICE TO SEE YOU again, Detective,” the words slid through Ursula’s accent as she sat at the table in the interrogation room. “Your call sounded serious.” “It was.” Connie moved from the door, avoiding Ursula’s flirtatious glare. “It’s best to be honest, Ursula.” She leaned back, propping her arm on the chair. “I’m always honest, Connie.” Connie stiffened; startled she’d called her by her first name. “Who is Noel Pittman?” Ursula’s eyes rolled skyward. “How in the world did you find out about him?” “You mind answering the question?” Connie sat in front of her. “He’s one of my ex-lovers. No more and no less.” “Oh, there’s more. Noel says you tried to hire him to murder Boyce.” Ursula gaped, gripping the table. “He said what?” “That you offered to pay him to get rid of Boyce.”
