Chapter 12
Kyle’s POV
I have never felt like this before. Today I make Mika my wife. Everything looks perfect.
I was just about to walk to the front of the pack. The wedding was about to begin, but then something happened Kayla came running towards me, a piece of paper crumpled in her hand.
“She’s gone!” she shouted. She sounded slightly out of breath and worried.
She thrust the piece of paper towards me.
I read it and felt like my heart was crumbling apart.
She left.
She left me.
She left moments before I made her my wife.
I dropped the letter and turned around.
My body shook as I felt the pain inside of me rip free. How could she do this to me?
This cannot be!
She loves me! She will not just run away like this.
“Something is wrong. This is not her handwriting.” Killian said.
I turned and saw him frown as he read the letter that Mika left for me.
“Don’t lie to me,” I growled.
Killian let out a growl of his own. “I know my daughter. I offered her an escape just a moment ago. She did not leave you!”
I lunged at him. He wanted to take my mate away from me.
“Where is she?”
“I don’t know!” Killian said calmly, but I could hear the worry in his voice. “But as soon as you let me go I can go searching for her.” I let go of him.
She did not leave me. But where is she?
I ripped off my blazer and shirt and let my wings expand from behind my back. I need to find her. I ignored the shocked gasps around me and flew up.
Wherever she is I will find her and whoever took her will have hell to pay.
I could feel her. Her energy is like a drug to me. It would always lead me to her. I found where it ends and found a vampire there. He looked like he was trying to get rid of whatever evidence there was of what happened to Mika.
He was gaping like a fish when he saw me. His red eyes flashed with fear.
I made my landing and folded my wings into my back. “Where is she?” I growled as he got back up as quickly as he could.
“I don’t know who you. . .”
Before he could finish that sentence I sped towards him and lifted him up by the throat. “You do not want to lie to me right now.” I said in my deadliest voice. We both know that I am going to kill him. It is just a question of when and how.
“We were told to bring her in. The queen wants her.” He was panicking and he had every right to panic.
They took Mika from me.
”Why?”
“You already know why. She is going to destroy us vampires. That can’t happen.” He growled out. He seemed to gain a bit of backbone in the last few seconds. Too bad I am going to have to rip it out of him.
“Where have they taken her?”
“I am as good as dead if I tell you.”
“You are as good as dead if you don’t tell me.”
He whimpered as I tightened my hold around his neck. “They took her to the compound.”
I waited for him to tell me where the compound is before I ripped his head off his body. “I take it you know where the compound is.” I heard someone say behind me.
I turned around and saw Jace standing behind me. The way his eyes narrowed as he glared at me accusingly told me that he is pissed that I haven’t shared that information with the pack.
I should not get too involved in matters involving the supernatural and human world. But I don’t need to explain myself to him. Not now not ever.
“Are you going to stand there all day or are you going to get the pack warriors and help me rescue your sister. My mate.” I growled at him.
“What are you?” he asked as he carried on glaring at me.
“Right now I am a nightmare you don’t want to get too close to.”
Jace’s POV
Kyle and I got to the place that vampire said was the compound and found that it was just an abandoned factory. Looks like the vampires had fed there in the past, but there were no other clues.
It has now been three days since Mika was kidn*pped.
The vampires took my sister. It is kind of ironic. Mika has been kidn*pped by our mother, a woman who doesn’t know she is our mother and we are at war with her.
The woman known as Cassandra is a dark shadow of Callie. The woman no one remembers and is not even a memory to almost everyone, everyone except for Mika.
Kyle has been going crazy. No one dares to go near him. Today he is silent, but he looks deadly.
My father and Killian have been working non-stop looking for leads on Mika. So far we have nothing.
Things could not have been worse.
“We are going to find her.” My mother said as she hugged me. She might not be my biological mother but she has been my mother in every sense of the word.
“You and I both know that after two days that we should start believing the worst.” I replied while I looked into the distance.
Mika should have been married right now, instead she is gone.
The vampires shouldn’t have been able to get to her during the day, but they stuck to the shadows. I admit it was a cloudy day. They took advantage of it and covering the woods provided them with. They shouldn’t have been able to get to her, much less kidnap her.
“We have to believe that she is alright.”
“When we first met Cassandra she told us that they wanted Mika dead. You know as well as I do
that the vampires are ruthless.”
My mother seemed to think about it and then gave my shoulder a little squeeze.
“She will be alright. Kyle is an angel, Killian was an Alpha and not to mention Skye is the daughter of the moon goddess, not to mention all the power she possesses. If those vampires hurt Mika in anyway all hell will break loose. A war unlike any other will emerge and many will die. There will be human casualties amongst us.” My mother warned and then she just walked away.
“Your mother is right.” Kyle said.
I knew he was nearby I just wasn’t sure if he heard anything.
“If I don’t get Mika back soon all hell will break loose.” Kyle said as he too turned his back on me and walked away.
Wherever you are Mika I just hope that you are safe.
