Logan adjusted his jacket, his mind whirling with doubt as he stepped into the chilly night air. He still couldn’t shake the feeling that Philip’s sudden need to meet, to reconcile, was some elaborate scheme. But if Jonathan truly was planning something bigger, Logan couldn’t afford to stay idle. He checked his phone again—9 PM. The address Philip had given led to a rundown part of town, an industrial district long abandoned. But as Logan’s car approached the location, it wasn’t some hidden warehouse he found. Instead, Philip sat behind the wheel of his own car, parked under a dim streetlight, waiting. Logan’s stomach churned with unease. Pulling up next to Philip, Logan rolled down his window, his eyes scanning the shadows, half-expecting Jonathan’s men to jump out. But nothing happened
