Connor came to an abrupt stop, so suddenly I thought I was going to go arse over tit and flip right over him. The sound of growls invaded my ears and the fresh scent of pine needles hung heavily in the air. My heart beat raced and I was filled with a tiny sliver of hope, lifting my head up so I could see whilst straddled above this huge wolf.
