I was drifting in and out of consciousness, my thoughts all jumbled and confused. I could tell I was moving but I couldn’t quite process how or why. Steady waves of pain hit me relentlessly, travelling around my body with every beat of my heart. Bright white lights shone down overhead, glaring in my eyes and hurting my head. I closed my eyes, scrunching them up tightly, and groaning. I tried to turn onto my side but someone placed a hand on my shoulder, stopping me from moving. I tried to bat it away but my arms were like dead weights, I could barely lift them.
A sharp burst of intense burning pain in my chest had me arching my back up and crying out loud. I could feel the hot salty tears streaming down my cheeks as I tried to breathe through it he pain.
