I had drifted off to sleep in the car on the way to hospital, leaning against the window, exhausted from the lack of sleep the previous night. Caleb woke me up when got there, gently shaking my shoulder as I jolted upright with a start. I wiped at my mouth with the back of my hand, worried I’d drooled everywhere.
“No drool but you were snoring really loud.” He smirked, and I glared at him.
He reached down, grabbing my hand and helping me get out of the car.
“You ready?” He asked, grinning at me.
“As I’ll ever be!” I replied giving him a cynical look. “How are you not even a little bit worried?”
“Because.” He said, putting his fingers beneath my chin and tilting my head back so I was looking at him. “Everything’s going to be ok.”
