An hour flew buy, I cut and paste, researched, printed and laminated until I had created a portfolio. I was now a fully qualified beauty therapist. I used the leaver arch folder and plastic wallets as my base and printed, laminated, copied and paste all the relevant information until I was complete. Fuelled by cups of coffee, now stacked up next to me, I had done it. I packed up and deleted Internet history, cleared the computer of all surface evidence and left the café back to the Laundrette, to collect my clothes.
The Laundrette was empty now, I unloaded my dryer, neatly folded all my clothes into my bag and headed back to the hotel, I would enjoy the walk back, I had earned that much. Taking in the street names and shops along the way.
Once back at the hotel lobby I rang the bell, hoping Lauren would still be working.
“Hi, Emma. Did you find it ok?” she chimed at me with a smile.
“Yes, I did, thanks Lauren, you where so helpful. I was wondering if you could help me again. Where is a good place to get a bite to eat round here? I feel like trying one of those famous Chicago style pizzas”
“Sure, I can send you the location if you like? There are a few not too far from here”
“Thanks that would be great. What time does your shift end?”
“5 minutes ago actually. Joe had car trouble so I’m covering until he gets here. He should be here soon, why do you ask?”
“Are you busy after work? I was wondering if you would like to join me for some food?” I smiled at her. This is rather forward of me and probably strange, but I needed to take the plunge.
“Sure! I would love that! Shall I pick you up from here in my car after I go change, say around 5:30pm?”
“Sounds perfect” I beamed at her. “Text me when you are here, I’m going to shower and get ready, then I can apply for some more jobs and maybe even a quick property search before meeting you.”
“Ok, see you later Emma.” She called after me as I headed to the elevators.
