Chapter 21. Breakfast with Chad

We entered the diner and found a booth, we sat opposite each other and looked at the menu in silence, it was quiet in the diner.

We placed our order with the waitress, who then came back with fresh coffee. I sipped gratefully from my mug in big gulps of the hot, steamy nectar. My eyes closed in bliss. The coffee warmed me from the inside out.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Chad staring at me smiling with twinkling eyes. “Needed that did you?”

“Defiantly! I love coffee, couldn’t live with out it. Nectar of the gods” i said taking another sip.

Chad laughed and took a sip of his own coffee.

The Waitress brought our breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes and maple syrup. Chad had pancakes with blueberries and maple syrup. We chatted lightly over our breakfast, I had lots of fresh
