Chapter #9 - Not For The Weak

2612 Words
Four blank dirty gray walls that I've been staring at for hours. The cold breeze from the barred windows is causing the room to freeze. One metal dark gray table, two chairs, one blank and one I'm sitting in. I definitely wasn't dressed for the occasion. How would I know as soon as I exited the plane, I'd be taken to the police station. The white short tube dress I had on was silk, the only thing stopping me from freezing is my white fur coat I have wrapped around my body. A strand of hair is at the corner of my eye, I haven't bothered to fix it. My eyes started to roam the room again. My gaze settled on the metal black door with an officer probably positioned outside of it. My nails tapped the table, my wrist confined in handcuffs. As much as I hate to say it, I looked so hot right now. The metal door handle started to rattle someone was entering, probably that same dark black haired cop that's been trying to get me to answer questions since I came here. The door opened, as it opened it shaked and rust fell from the door frame. The officer walked over to the table, taking a seat in the empty chair while placing his elbows on the table and leaned back in the chair. "Ready to answer questions yet?" The officer asked his accent funny he was from Italy. He had an Italian accent. Hot. "When do I get to make a phone call or talk to my lawyer. Because I'm not answering any questions until I do one of those things." I replied tilting my head slightly and curling a strand of my hair with my finger. The officer sat up and stared at me, he was definitely checking me out. But who wouldn't. He cleared his throat and got up from his seat and crossed his arms over his chest. "Women like you are the things, America should fear." The officer replied while unlocking my handcuffs and grabbing my wrists with one of his hands. He walked me to the entrance and he unlatched my hands. "Your bails been paid, get your stuff from off of the front desk." The officer said walking back down the long hallway. I took my stuff off of the front desk and walked outside. That's when I saw Cleo leaning against his car smoking a cigarette. I rolled my eyes at the sight walking up to him with rage. "Why are you smoking in the front of a police station." I said slapping the cigarette out of his hand on the ground and outing it with my shoe. He stared at me and grab my wrist. "Those cops does the same thing I was doing. It's not a problem." Cleo replied chuckling softly while looking down at me. "Whatever Cleo." I said staring up at him. "Dang Mami, how does one go for a week and get more sexier than one already was." Cleo said brushing the strand of hair from over my eyes behind my ear. I chuckled while walking to the passenger seat and sitting down. "Drive me home, I have to get changed for work it's already four pm." I said while looking at my phone. Cleo sat down in the drivers seat and turned on the car. "Oh also the Mr.Valmont wants to schedule a meeting as soon as possible." Cleo said while pulling out the police station. I stared at road ahead. "Okay. I hope my house is clean or I'm kicking you out." I replied chucking while picking up my phone out of my birkin. "It is clean, the bed is just not fixed." Cleo replied, while speeding through the traffic. "What if I wanted to rest when I arrived? I couldn't sleep because someone didn't make up the bed." I replied leaning back in the seat. "I'm sorry. You could take the day off and I could make you something to eat and we could watch movies all day?" Cleo asked squeezing my thigh with his right hand. "No, I missed a week of work. New years is coming up and I have to get focused." I replied turning my head to look at him. "The maids are getting lazy. I know the house is big but I went downstairs to the bowling alley they didn't clean up after I had the boys over." Cleo said his jaw tightened. His knuckles turned white as his gripped on the steering wheel hardened. "I'll talk to them about it. But uh Alyssa is going to live with us, she doesn't want to live with her mom." I replied turning my face back toward the road. Cleo pulled up to the gate where two guard stood on each side of it. Cleo rolled down the window on my side. "I'm back, tell all the maids I want to speak with them." I said peaking my head out of the window and then I rolled it back up. As Cleo pulled up to the driveway, I saw my huge modern sleek mansion. That I love with my whole heart. I saw Alyssa on the front steps with her iPad I smiled at the sight, but my smiled turned to a frown when I noticed nobody was watching her. "Why isn't nobody watching Alyssa." I asked Cleo staring at him. "I don't know her mom was here earlier with her." Cleo said shrugging and stopping the car. I stepped out of the car grabbing my purse and walking up to Alyssa. "Did you miss me?" I said staring down at her. "Oh my gosh Auntie!!!" Alyssa said jumping up on me and putting her iPad down. "I take that for a yes." I said while I wrapped my arms around her back as her arms wrapped around my neck. Cleo walked up to us, and stared at me then walked inside. "I have to go get ready for work but we'll have dinner later. You can pick dinner tonight just tell the chefs." I said while kissing her forehead and setting her down while walking inside. "Good evening Ms.Ophelia." A maid passing by said to me while curtsying. The respect I get in this house , is what I earned because I sure didn't get respect as a child. "Good evening, meeting in thirty minutes." I replied walking up the stairs. I walked down the hall opening the double sleek doors and walking in and falling back on my bed. Which I knew Cleo just made up. Cleo walked out of the bathroom walking to the bedroom door and closing it. "Thanks for caring about my comfort." I said smiling. Cleo looked down at me laying on the bed and stared at my thigh where the dress had risen up. He was looking at the tattoo. Cleo walked up to me and sat next to me. "I didn't know you were an angel, I always thought I got lucky an gotten a demon. That's wild and crazy and beautiful. Like a sin dressed in fur and beauty." Cleo said climbing on top of me and sliding his hand up my right thigh where my dress had already risen. "Don't search for things you don't want to find out." I said chuckling wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands searched my body stopping at my belly button. He raised my dress up. "You got two tattoos and a belly button piercing. I'm not taking my eyes off of you again." Cleo replied kissing me hard. "Mm, I got to get ready for work." I replied chuckling and pulling away from him. Cleo sighed rolling to the side of me. "Who was biting you?" Cleo asked staring at the hickey on my neck. "Alyssa and I were playing and she bit me, she was too hyper." I replied, I lied I got up and walked to the walk in closet. "Alyssa did that? Looks like it was in intentional, princess." Cleo replied his eyebrow arched and stared at me from behind. "Yeah she was hyper." I replied while putting on some black baggy sweatpants and a black tube top. Cleo got up off of the bend and walked up behind me. The height difference is sexy itself, but the human behind the height difference is hot. Cleo loomed over me, looking like a damn skyscraper. He wrapped his hands around my waist, he rested his chin on the crown of my head. "Sunflower stop lying." Cleo said playing with my piercing on my belly button. I looked down at his hands. "I uh-" I muttered while looking at us through the mirror. "Why was another man touching something that was mine is my question? How did he get his mouth on your neck, Sunflower?" Cleo asked taking his chin of my head and unwrapping his arms. He turned me around and pushed me up against the mirror. Harshly. "I was feeling the moment Cleo. It isn't important." I replied, sliding my hand in his hand. "I'm sorry." I said staring up at him. "I can't stay mad at you long, when you look at me like that." He sighed, "You don't play fair." He whispered in my ear. His breath hot against the side of my face as his lips clamped down on my earlobe. "I'm going to the meeting I have with my staff. I'll continue this later." I replied walking out of the closet and putting on my black red bottoms. I walked out of my bedroom door and walked upstairs to the third floor to the meeting room. I walked over to Elena who was outside of the meeting room, her face flustered. "Who are you talking too?" I asked taking her phone from by her ear and hanging it up. "I was talking to Trey, he was saying he is thinking of coming to Illinois this weekend." Elena replied her face growing more flushed. "Tell him don't bring Thèodore with him. Cleo almost freaked out about the hickey on my neck." I said rubbing my neck. "He is bringing Thèodore and his wife." Elena replied chuckling. "Let's go do this meeting." I said, smiling. I stepped into the doors of the meeting room all of my staff was sitting around the table. Not a chatter just silence. "Good evening, I called this staff meeting because of some maids haven't been cleaning all areas." I said staring at them. A maid raised her hand it was one with curly brown hair that reached her shoulders. "It was me, I had to get home my daughter was sick and my husband does nothing." She said staring at the table. "Alright just don't let it happen again. I hope your daughter is feeling better." I replied. "Meeting dismissed." I said walking out the room signaling Elena to come as I walk downstairs to the backyard. "The sunflowers here is so pretty." Elena said gasping. "They are. Look at my angel playing so nicely." I said while staring at Alyssa. "Is she okay? She's young and her dad died." Elena asked while staring at Alyssa. "She says she's okay." I replied while watching Alyssa walk up to us. "Auntie, what is daddy issues?" Alyssa asked while looking up at me "Who told you about daddy issues?" I asked staring at her. "Your dad, the man who was on the couch in Paris ." Alyssa replied crossing her arms over her chest. Daniel, me and Elena said at the same time while looking at each other. "You don't have to worry about daddy issues because you don't have any." I replied smiling. Alyssa stared at me like really stared at me then she shrugged and walked inside the house. "Such an odd kid."Elena said chuckling. "I think her dad's funeral is tomorrow morning, she may feel a bit down." I replied looking at the sunflowers. "Are you attending the funeral." Elena said playing with her nails. "I have to, for Alyssa." I replied looking up at the sky. "The amount of things you do for her, is extraordinary. You love her probably more than her mom. And she loves you more than her mom." Elena whispered while walking inside. The sky looks happy today. The sky is a perfect sky blue color and the clouds are nice and white. No storm in sight. I take a deep breath and close my eyes, letting all my stress fly away in the air. Cleo walked up behind me, I hadn't even heard when he walked outside and closed the back door. He wrapped his arms around my waist and looked down at me. "What you stressing for, Sunflower." Cleo said running his fingers over the tattoo on my waist. "I'm not stressing. I'm taking a quick breather. I haven't gotten rest since I arrived." I replied leaning my head back to rest against his chest. I should feel guilty, right now. I cheated on Cleo and he still was so loving and caring. I didn't deserve it. "Rest now. You have nothing to worry about." Cleo said while he kissed my temple. I opened my eyes and looked up at his face. "Oh also Alyssa chose pizza for dinner." Cleo said chuckling while running his hand over my neck. Of course she chose pizza. I thought to myself. "Her mom is coming over for dinner, since the funeral is tomorrow. She said she wants to spend some time with Alyssa." I replied My phone buzzed in my pocket, it was my grandmother. "Hello Ophelia." Grandma said through the phone in a raspy tone. "Is everything okay, Grandma?" I asked playing with Cleo's fingers around my neck. "Oh yes, Bridget told me Thèodore and his wife is coming Illinois and I was wondering if you could host them at your house. Bridget wanted me to ask you." Grandma replied her tone anxious. I almost dropped my phone. I can't host Thèodore, thats like setting myself up. "Sure." I replied nonchalantly, but inside it was killing me to say it. "Alright dear, I'll talk to you tomorrow." Grandma replied hanging up. I tucked the phone back in my pants pocket and turned around to face Cleo. "Who is Thèodore, Mami?" Cleo said tilting his head. "A bastard, nobody important." I said walking inside, Cleo followed right behind me. ————————————————————————— Meanwhile in Paris (Thèodore's POV) I was sitting on the bed, watching Vanessa pace through the room, going from one side to the next. Packing her suitcase for one weekend while blabbing about so many things at once. I would be clueless to anything if she would have asked me. She stopped for a second and turned to me. "I have to see all of the good parks and all the history landmarks," Vanessa said, chuckling while zipping up the suitcase. "Yeah, you do that," I replied, my tone very sarcastic. "Ophelia is very gracious for letting us stay at her house," Vanessa said, taking a seat next to me. "Yes, she is," I replied, laying back. Vanessa turned to me. "Are you guys close? Because you gave her an expensive Christmas present, but only got me a bag," Vanessa said, tilting her head. "You got an expensive bag. Are you being ungrateful right now?" I replied, grabbing her arm. "No. I am sorry I asked," Vanessa said, running into the bathroom. ————————
