Time was the enemy. Theo realized that fact the minute he woke this morning and found Cassie in his arms. He knew this moment would come, the one where he had to release her. He couldn’t keep her locked up in his room all day and night no matter how tempting the thought might be. At least the separation was temporary. Come evening, they’d be together again. The glass cooled his skin as he pressed his forehead to the window and stared toward the street. Cassie was opening the back door of a cab.
