Chapter 5: Intense Passion

1101 Words
Lizzy's pov I could not believe my ears. This was not what I was expecting. "Look, Alexandro, I get what you are saying. Let me just go home and think about it." I said trying to make sense of everything that was happening. The "I don't trust you not to run off." He said to me. "But I don't think I will be able to run off, not with this condition you just told me." "It doesn't change the fact that I don't trust you! I give you just today. By tomorrow, Brimley will come and pick you up. You will stay here till we are ready to get married." He ordered. "What? I thought you said you are no longer a bully." "That doesn't mean I still don't get what I want when I want it! Now go, this conversation is over." He said to me as he walked away. I walked out of the mansion a shadow of myself. All my energy and confidence were drained. As I flagged down a taxi, I could not help feeling dejected. I got to the house and met Dorthy waiting for me. "So yes, what's the update? Did he agree to cut it off?" She asked me. "No, there's a big problem," I said to her. "Oh! you just couldn't get anything right. Now what have you done again? What trouble have you caused?" Dorthy demanded. I was already too tired from seeing Alexandro, so I flared off. "Will you just shut up and listen to me? You are the one who put me in this tight spot in the first place. I should have just left the house and refused to agree to this nonsense deal!" I yelled at her. "Oh really? Try and leave and see if you can make it alive." Dorthy threatened me. I knew Dorthy was no one to make empty threats. When she told me that she would never accept me as her sister and make my life hell in the house, I thought she was joking and it would only be for the meantime but she kept to her word, and she made my life hell. And besides that, I also know she has some bad friends, and also how dark her heart can be. So if she is threatening me with death, she will surely do it. I sat down back on the chair and tried to calm myself down. "The guy is Alexandro. My worst bully in high school." I tried explaining to Dorthy. "So? That was high school. This is adulthood and it doesn't count anymore. Is that the reason?" "No. According to the agreement with our parents..." "My parents, you mean?" She cut me off. I rolled my eyes and ignored her. "He helped them settle some debts and bought the cafe for them and the agreement was that if he doesn't get married to me... We are going to have to pay back the money double. And he will collect the cafe back." I explained to her. "That I don't think we are ready to do. Are we?" She asked me not looking shocked. "Were you aware of everything?" I asked her. "Yes." She answered nonchalantly. "So you planned everything?" I asked her. She rolled her eyes at Me and stood up to leave. "It doesn't matter? You are getting married to him so your luck, not mine!" I could not believe my ears. Was Dorothy being serious or she was joking? "Wait, do you think he would not find out that I'm Lizzy and not Dorthy?" "Oh, he would not because the file I sent to him has your name and not mine in the first place. So, yeah, enjoy." "He's threatening that I have to start staying in the mansion from tomorrow, till we get married!" "Look, Lizzy, I don't have time for all this nonsense you are telling me. Do the needful and make sure he doesn't even know that he was supposed to get married to me." She said and walked away, leaving me with my dilemma. I cried myself to sleep that night as I cursed my fate for this hand I was dealt with. The next morning, as early as 7 a.m., Brimley drove to the house to pick me up. Without as much as a smile, I entered the car and went to the mansion. The next three weeks of my stay in the Manson were very uncomfortable for both me and Alexandro. I made sure to frustrate every effort so he could call off the engagement but he refused. It was like a war between two elephants, and at this point, Brimley was the grass who was suffering. It continued like that until one heated night when Alexandro came home drunk, and Brimley was not around. "What is wrong with you? Why are you drunk?" I asked him angrily. He looked at me and pushed past me into my room. "Wait! That is my room. You have no right to sleep here. Go to your room!" I shouted at him. "The last time I checked, this is my house, and I have every right to sleep in whichever room I choose." He retorted. "Well, this time around, it is now my room, and I have every right to choose whoever sleeps here or not!" I went to him to drag him away from the bed, but he held my hands and pushed me on the bed. Though we had always argued and fought, there was one thing we could not deny, it was the obvious s****l tension and attraction between us. Alexandro is a very handsome man, and most times after arguing with him, I would often go to my room to fantasize about him. And here he was, lying on my bed, and staring at me with those blue eyes that were like a deep sea. Before I could think or stand up, he kissed me, and I kissed him back. A part of me was screaming in my head to stop. But another part of me knew that I was not ready to stop. The kiss which started slow, became intense and before I knew it, we were pulling each other's clothes. What happened after that time was a blur to me, but the one thing I knew was that when I woke up the next morning, with Alexandro by my side, looking at me with care in his eyes, I knew one thing. I had fallen in love with him, and he had fallen in love with me too.
