Chapter Seventeen
ROCHELLE
I didn't see him stop as the water swallowed me whole. My body pushed down further and just as I felt the air leave my lungs, a force yanked me upwards.
I was out of the water in a few seconds, coughing and choking. My eyes hurt badly and my lungs burned. Tears gathered in my eyes as I spat out water.
“So much trouble,” I heard a familiar voice mutter and my eyes fluttered open to see Aidan, drenched. Water dripped from his hair down to his sleeves to his very pants.
My lips parted, a little shocked that he actually jumped into the water to save me. I badly wanted to thank him, but the words wouldn't leave my throat.
