I would be lying if I said I'd been confident in Valen's plan. I had spent most of last night wondering how on earth he would go through with it. And I finally came to the conclusion that it was not going to work. There were just too many things involved, and it would surely attract attention and suspicion from the pack members.
What I had not expected was for him to call an impromptu meeting for an announcement. I suspected it had something to do with his plan but I couldn't be too sure. When he finally made the announcement, I took all I had in me to keep from grinning widely at how brilliant it was.
Of course! Instead of finding a way to isolate me from the other servants to get me into the ball, he was getting all the servants in. Doing it that way would not look suspicious.
