The first tear slid down my cheek as I barged into my room and flung myself on my bed. I tried to muffle my sobs to no avail. With each sob, my shoulders shook violently.
Just when everything was going perfectly, I was slapped back to reality. I had been holding on to the impossible. This was real life. This was the real world, and from the looks of things, I was the only one who did not realize. Even Valen knew this. He had always known.
