Lara POV
After some time had passed, we all gathered in the living room to talk about the predicament. To relieve their stress, Yas and Tolga wanted to have fun for three days, but it turned out that I only added to their worries. Yas was anxious when she learned that her father would be visiting her. She claims that her father approaches these situations with strict professionalism, and that if he showed up in person, it was because he thought the circumstances were complicated. My anxiety was only increased by her words.
"Don't blame yourself, Lara. There were numerous ways that this might have happened. Even though I'm angry with you, it's not because of you, but because of the circumstances. How did the information get out on a beach that was only accessible to locals?" Rob wonders, but I really don't have the time to consider such things. We are all aware of how intense human curiosity often leads to people sacrificing their morals and even their safety in exchange for a well-lit photograph.
I groaned in boredom. The hours pass, and my agony only seems to grow. Thomas ought to be here by now. Fortunately for me, Kyle has remained by my side the entire time, only departing when he needed to make or receive calls from the individuals he hired to look into what occurred. There have been recent updates.
Lara Rodriguez's betrayal is discovered by Rob Puente.
Liam defends Robert Puente, against Kyle Martin
Kyle Martin steals dancer girlfriend from Puente
Lara Rodriguez from saint to flirt
These are some of the newspaper headlines I've seen. Not only celebrity newspapers and magazines, but also daily and sports publications. Every television channel shows my face. Worst of all, they included not only us, but also Rob. Liam has really let me down; he refuses to take our calls and has instructed his agent not to speak with anyone on our side, so we don't know his position or possible version of events. Sure, I can be upset and angry, but these emotions only go so far in explaining how I feel. For years, I avoided all of this attention, always leaving everything at the professional level. Today, everything has changed, and my life has been cruelly exposed.
When I look at Kyle, my heart warms and everything seems to fade away. Others time, but I look around and can't help but blame him, because it was his media hype and rashness that got us into this mess. Is it possible that Liam made a mistake? Clearly, but Kyle and Rob's reactions made everything worse.
My brother has always stood by my side or assisted Sophie with minor tasks. Her break is over immediately because she has a lot to deal with like our agent, Rob's, and mine.
They are all discussing the situation and what to do about Liam when the door opens and four well-dressed gentlemen enter. Yas follows one of them closely and I quickly recognize the person as Thomas. Thomas politely assumes command of the situation. To introduce everyone, one of them is a Deior Brand representative who is also a lawyer, another is Kyle's lawyer, and the other gentleman is the public relations officer for Thomas' agency. Both of the four men are sitting with us at the dining room table, carrying briefcases and computers that they quickly turn on.
"Kyle, I need you to tell me everything that happened." Thomas inquires. His tone is solemn and somewhat poignant. Kyle began by explaining everything that had happened, only revealing that we had decided to date shortly before the confrontation, keeping all the details of our relationship hidden, and obviously not revealing how it was not a two-way decision, but rather a unilateral one. The Deior Brand Manager, a tall, dark gentleman with a solemn expression, sighed deeply and turned to face us.
"Everything that has been revealed is clear to me. But you signed a contract that included two crucial clauses. One was to avoid interacting with other colleagues during the campaign period. The other goal was to avoid scandals that could result in any type of loss or damage to the brand. As you might expect, both clauses were violated." He informs us, his gaze fixed on us.
"I respectfully disagree." The voice of Kyle's lawyer has now caught our attention." Although the contract had begun, my client and Ms. Lara Rodriguez was not involved during the work period, that is, their duties had not yet been publicly begun, so the damage you mention, as well as the breach of the relationships clause, did not arise." His voice is strong and commands attention. I am relieved that someone is advocating for us and our interests. Indeed, we all know how lawyers and big brands operate; their power is immense, and anyone who gets involved in litigation with them usually loses because of the disparities in power and ability to promote equally strong defense.
"Doctor, in fact, both had already begun the photo shoots and had been announced as campaign participants. As a result, we cannot consider it a violation of the terms." As if to appease Kyle's lawyer, the brand representative's words were harsh and cold.
"However, if the advertising campaigns do not go ahead, the brand will incur no losses other than the costs associated with the photo shoots."
"No. Our project was agreed upon at the time of signing, and it revolves around their respective careers. But don't worry, because even though the brand fears that all of this news will harm it, and there are several witnesses who confirm what Mr. Martin claims happened, we can reach another agreement that I believe is in both of our best interests, and from there we can map out a strategy for dealing with this situation and proceed with the initial plans as planned." says the Deior representative with a fake smile, and that really bored me. It is not difficult to imagine that his proposal would be bold, because he spoke as if he were a predator.
"So tell me what your idea is." This time it is Sophie who asks, looking at the representative with a look that scares even me. I have never seen Sophie in such a solemn and fierce posture.
"My idea is simple. If you both have a relationship, you should make it public right away, but not as a budding relationship, but by making it seem stable and with serious intentions for the future. He explains and I feel a little relieved by his words. Although I think it is too early to assume a serious relationship, it shouldn't be too difficult to show the public that we are motivated to make it work.
"Clearly, the relationship between Rodriguez and Puente needs to be clarified in order to avoid these sensationalistic publications." He flips open his tablet and shows us one of the headlines accusing me of cheating on Rob with Kyle. To expose my relationship with Rob is to expose my parents' and family members' pasts.
"Rob is Lara's brother. However, their family relationship cannot be exposed in this manner because it will draw attention to their family. You must understand that if you want to avoid scandals among those who signed the contract, this situation must also be avoided." Sophie says this without blinking, and it fills me with pride to see how good my best friend is at what she does. What Sophie says is the absolute truth; if they find out we are brothers, they will use the facts maliciously to try to figure out why we are hiding the truth from everyone, and we will be in the news for days.
"Brothers?" Thomas and the Deior brand representative both inquired almost simultaneously. Kyle's lawyer appears unaffected by the news, acting naturally and taking the floor now.
"They are, indeed, brothers. They didn't hide their relationship; they simply concealed it. They come from different families, and they have some family issues that cause them to not want to share the whole truth." Reiterating what Sophie said earlier, the lawyer says.
"Their family lives will be exposed if both of their pasts are revealed." "The representative is typing something on his laptop, and I can understand him talking to someone, most likely relaying information."
"They are not required to report their siblings; they can simply state that they are family and longtime friends. Rob will be forced to defend Lara's relationship with Kyle." He mentions still having his eyes on the laptop and typing.
"So it looks like we have come to an agreement at this point." Thomas starts to speak but is immediately interrupted.
"No. We haven't yet discussed their romantic relationship. If you both agree to make the relationship official, Deior will agree to let it go." Make it official?
"We had already agreed to make the relationship public." Sophie confirmed our intention once more.
"It is not intended to be made public. It's to demonstrate that the relationship is more than just a day or night flirtation. We want both of them to take a step forward. We must demonstrate how serious they are about each other and that this is not just a passing phase. They must stay together for a year, whether in a real or fictitious relationship, and neither can be the subject of polemics about their relationship."
"I appreciate you being more clear in your words." Kyle's lawyer asks, leaning his body slightly on the table.
"If you don't want to be sued for millions of dollars, you should announce your engagement, and the media rights to your wedding will remain solely ours. One year in which they must remain married without scandal and appear to live a happy life." And we are all taken aback by this threat.
