Lara POV
"Get out, get out, immediately," I yelled at her, mortified by her smugness.
"But it's extremely important." She still screamed, her back to us, arms raised, hands covering her eyes.
" I'll stand outside the door." She informed me, completely taking me out of my mind. I opened my mouth to yell at her, but the door opened and slammed before I could speak anything. Kyle gave a little laugh as I sighed in frustration.
"Let's get dressed then," he suggested, but before he could finish, I pulled him against me, kissing him fiercely as if that was the solution to the angry feeling that was rising inside me. He did not really deny it...but he stopped the kiss before it could get any deeper.
"We should take a break. She's out there somewhere." He told me with a chuckle. He was concerned about my friend; he could be selfish or a pervert, but instead he was thinking about our actions and that made me smile at him.
"Let her wait. I'm going to take a shower. Are you coming?" I asked him seductively, and his eyes widened in surprise.
"How can I refuse such an invitation?" He whispered in my ear, and I could feel some tinkles going through my veins. "I'm following you."
We were ready, dressed again, and I opened the door for Sophie, who was tired after knocking several times, making me happy to know I annoyed her like hell. She was sitting down on the floor, and when she saw us, she shook her head in disbelief and stood up.
"You two have a major problem in your hands. Someone broadcasted a video of what happened on the beach. It has gone viral!" She informed us in a serious tone and looked at both of us to see how we would react. I released Kyle's hand, turned away and returned to the room. I could tell this was going to be a mess, and even so, I agreed to it. Kyle rushed after me and grabbed my wrist, pulling me in and rotating my body so that we were facing each other.
"Everything I've always tried to avoid is now knocking on my door. This is exactly what I was referring to! Different worlds, we are polar opposites!" I told him, and the expression on his face made me immediately regret it. Not because of what I said, but because of how I said it. Kyle seemed dissatisfied with my choice of words. I could tell I had hurt him. He let go of my hand, and before he could say anything else, Sophie interrupted again.
"That was not his fault. If he hadn't done it, your brother would have, and your problems would have been even worse!" Sophie attempted to reason to me. I sighed at her words. I know it was Liam's fault, but Kyle should have been calmer, there was no need to beat him.
"We need to coordinate a press statement to justify what happened while also clarifying your situation." She suggested, loud and clear, but her gaze was now fixed on Kyle, waiting for his decision. I could understand what she meant. She wanted us to say we were together and happy. Oh hell!
"Lara is now my girlfriend. I have no objections to the rest of the world knowing." He said it firmly, and his words made my stomach clench. Not in a bad way, but it felt like a little more of me was becoming his. His words moved me, because he appeared to be more certain and motivated than I was with us. Hearing him say that made me realize that this was real, a real relationship, and that we were a couple now.
"I'll speak with Thomas and our public relations representative to see what we can do." He claimed that trying to do the right thing, but knowing that he would tell them about us, created more anxiety for me rather than less.
"Yes, sure. It´s the best thing to do now," Sophie said, and Kyle nodded his head in agreement. He walked over to me, giving me a little peck on the lips and left the room to deal with all this on his part. I was not used to this and my heart beat faster as a reaction. His little actions of affect around me were warming my heart and making me long for his touch.
Sophie waited for the door to slam to give me one of those disapproving looks of hers.
"What?" I asked her angrily, as if after the little scene she had made, she still had the right to question or reproach me.
"Do you realize he assumed your relationship and that he was trying to assist you and was concerned about you? What you did say to him about all this was completely pointless!"
I took a deep breath, surprised that this was what was bothering her. I had a feeling it was everything else, and it seems i was wrong. She was talking like I was a b***h to Kyle, and perhaps I was a little. I felt guilty for that.
"You knew who he was from the start, and you only got involved because you wanted to! It's not fair to blame him when he's never cheated on you!" Outraged by the words I spoke earlier, she raised her voice. I couldn't deny that I was sorry for the cold tone with which I spoke, but the truth is that I knew this was going to be a disaster, but I kept burying myself deeper in this relationship. I don't regret it; Kyle is growing on me, and being apart from him now feels like torture, but that doesn't erase all these problems.
"Sophie, I'm aware. But it was way too quick... I had no time to think..." I began to explain.
But Sophie would not let me finish because her words came out like arrows, hitting me full force: "And that's a good thing, because if you had taken the time to think instead of allowing yourself to feel, you would have squandered an opportunity to be happy. Lara, you think too much. Maybe your heart will break as a result of this, but any step toward living rather than surviving was already worthwhile."
"And have you seen what a scandal this is?"
"Yes, the situation is complicated. But nobody is to blame for this. In addition to being a jerk, Liam treated you like a piece of property. You should be grateful that Kyle stood up for you because that shows he cares about you; otherwise, it would be odd. She shared her opinion. Her eyes glowed with curiosity, "Now tell me, how he is in bed."
"Nothing to note thus far", I informed her and tried to end the course of the conversation. I didn´t want to talk about my s*x life with her at all. When my s*x life was nonexistent until recently and I couldn't even imagine any of this, it's even strange for me to talk about it. I couldn't stop wanting him inside of me, so even thinking about him caused my hips to wriggle and press together. I didn't even recognize myself; I sounded like a pervert, but something inside of me had awakened and clicked. I only know that, despite my whining, I wanted this to go on forever and that I wanted him to cling to me. I wanted to explore these feelings and his body, too.
I opened the door when I heard a knock and let him in. It's Kyle again, and my solemn expression transforms into a smile, which he immediately returns, though it didn't quite reach his eyes, and I realized right then and there that he didn't have good news.
"I just spoke with Thomas, and he is coming here to talk and decide on a joint action. It appeared to be our best option. Liam, on the other hand, has left and is not returning my phone calls." In concern, he ran his hands through his hair. "The Deior brand representative will also come; it appears he was already with Thomas, as this news interferes with our contracts." He informed me now, concerned, and I rolled my eyes and sighed. Oh I was already expecting something like this to happen.
"Right, the contract was explicit about avoiding scandals and entanglements." Sophie remembered picking up her phone and looking for what I believed to be the contract. Kyle hugged me, probably sensing how my panic had begun to take hold of me.
"According to the contract, if your image causes problems that may reflect negatively on the brand, the contract will be terminated and you will be required to compensate them for their losses". Sophie was taken aback. And I wanted to hit her again; how could there be such a clause and she expecteded and let me sign it? We all know how thankless life as a public figure is; anything can cause a commotion, and a clause like that was too risky, and now we are in a bigger mess than before.
