The Gala 2

772 Words
We arrived at the hotel, where the gala has already started. Rob and I walked in and were in random talk when a waitress recognized us and politely greeted us, and told us where our seat is. On the opposite side, where I am going to sit, I recognized the journalist who had already interviewed us several times, and I smiled at her in recognition. As I look away so as not to bump into the chair that is right next to me, I got a shock that almost made me stop. The man, who is sitting next to my chair, has his cell phone in his hand, and in the image is a naked woman. Who does that at a gala, I ask myself. Only a pervert! My face is in shock. Rob, who must have noticed something was going on, looked too. I purposely shifted my gaze to Rob, whose shoulders were shaking from holding back his laughter. When I saw him like that, I burst out laughing. I didn't want to, but Rob's face was truly funny. We should be more careful. Eyes dropping is a shameful thing to do, if the word exists, but it was an accident. I didn't mean to. I think with shame. The cell phone owner noticed our arrival, he must hear our chuckles and turn around. When those blue eyes locked on mine, my mind went blank. Rob had to pull the chair gently like a true gentleman and push me into my seat, waking me up to reality. How is someone with a look like that a pervert? I thought to myself. That man is gorgeous. I´m not the kind of girl to drool after some man, but here I´m drooling. What a waste! Glad that Sophie is not here right now, or she would notice my thoughts and would give a lot of nasty ideas or comments. When I sat up, that perfect gaze was still focused on mine, making me uncomfortable. Looking away, I saw the phone still on, on the table, with that same image on full display. Smiling, I moved my head, warning him... He realizes what I mean and quickly picked up the phone and put it away. Rob, who also noticed, laughed in pure amusement. Carlysle, without knowing helps to end that awkward moment and introduces all the people sitting to us. And that was when I realized the pervert is nothing more and nothing less than Kyle Martin, the one who will be with me working for the next months. Only a shameful man would see photos like that in an event like this. I frown. Should I be afraid? I can see his tuxedo adjusted to his body, and his muscles under that suit. Oh, God! I try to avert my eyes from the man sitting next to me, and I started to pay more attention to the others. The other football players are really funny. I laughed wholeheartedly with them. For moments I was lost in their jokes and teasing that forgot my physical pain. That guy, Liam, is really a nonsensical blabber, but he is really funny, and he is gorgeous too. The other one, Dean, I think, was always teasing Liam, and I watched it with some amusement. Dean is more serious than Liam, and he is a hell of a sexy man. I think Deior tried to find the most gorgeous men alive and put them here with me. Their random talk was starting to bore me after a while... and I got lost in my thoughts. All my body is sore, aching, and burning. I just want my bed and pillow... Rob was a happy talker, and I couldn´t resist but admire him more. The dinner was finally over, I got up and went to the balcony, needing fresh air to keep me awake and to help me gain force to deal with all this tonight. The night is still young, unfortunately. The view from this balcony is magnificent. The sky is starry and perfect. And underneath I can see a pool, where the lights are reflected. And I don't even know why, this calms me down, makes me feel peaceful. I close my eyes and inhale as much air as my lungs can take in, and then exhale calmly. Without understanding how or why those eyes come to my memory. I try to push the thought away when my thoughts are interrupted by a voice saying "It's a beautiful night, isn't it?". I turned and I only can see those blue eyes.
