Kyle POV
I didn't expect to see Alana here, let alone be invited by Liam.
We went to play Dare or Truth, and it was the worst idea they had.
The question Liam asked Lara made me squirm in my seat. Not even the strong drink, I went for, could pacify my emotions.
As I already predicted, they do have a relationship, perhaps strange, but they do.
I tried to enjoy myself but that feeling in my abdomen that almost made me cry out in pain, wouldn't let me.
When I chose to dare, I did it consciously. If Liam brought Alana, he would do anything to bring me closer to her. Liam is way too predictable.
I actually manipulated the situation, I wanted to show Lara that she means nothing to me. If I had to deal with the nasty questions about Rob then I wanted her to feel like I didn't care. The last thing I want is for her to see how hurt and damaged i am.
When lap dancing started, I made an effort to focus on Alana. But really, I just wanted to see Lara's face, to see if somehow she cared. Things quickly escalated. In fact, Alana totally exceeded herself. This was supposed to be for fun, not a serious erotic activity. In another place, on another occasion, he would have been the first to enjoy every moment of the dance. But not today, not in a room full of people who just wanted to have fun. This embarrassed them, it was too much. When her bra was unfastened I was about to get up but before I did I saw everyone leaving the room.
I grabbed Alana's wrists and pulled her away from me.
"What were you thinking about?" I yelled at him at the height of my fury.
"That's what I had to do, it's part of the game!" She said looking at me with a confused face.
"It was supposed to be fun and not make everyone leave the room!" I try to explain but from her astonished face, it looks like her two neurons aren't getting the hang of the situation.
"I know you like what you were looking at, we can finish this somewhere else then." She says as she tries to put her hands on my neck to kiss me. I push it.
"Don't get close to me again! You're like all the others who only think about yourself and never about the others around them. So full of themselves that they ignore the feelings of others." I yell at him annoyed.
"What?" Alana looks angry now. Fury leaves her eyes and if fury killed me, I'd be dead right here and now. "Don't think you can insult me, just because!" She says in a voice so calm but filled with fury, that it even startled me for a moment.
"You've crossed the line. Don't get close to me." I tell him, as I head to the bar, fixing myself a drink. She turns her back, huffing through her mouth.
I sit on the bar stool and shake the straw, and I'm enjoying my drink and trying to calm myself down so I can get back to the group.
After a while, they go back inside except for Lara. We end the night. We go up the stairs, and Rob enters the room next to mine, even though I'm unlucky. I sigh and get into mine. A few minutes, while I was undressing, I hear the door to the next room slam, Rob's room. I finish undressing, lie on the bed and grab my cell phone, where I take the opportunity to read some sports news.
I start to hear strange sounds, I have to understand what is going on, I can hear a bed hitting the wall and moans in the room next door Rob. f**k! Now I still have to listen to them...
I tried to distract myself, I tried to sleep but I couldn't... the moans only made me remember Lara's face, her expressions... and the anger increased with every second. I put on my swimming trunks, grab a towel and decide to go swimming. Nothing like an overnight shower to forget about.
I go to the kitchen and bump into someone. Lara.
"Sorry, I was thirsty. Couldn't sleep." Lara, asks while looking me in the eyes.
If Lara is here, then it's not her with Rob. She couldn't be moaning there in the bedroom and be here at the same time.
"I also wanted to sleep, but I started to hear some sounds and decided to go downstairs," I tell him, in an attempt to try to find out something more.
"Oh, Rob?" She asks me with a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes.
"It seems so!"
"Oh, he and Sophie are always like that, loud. I don't know who's worse, her or my brother. They should be more careful. Sorry." She says embarrassed, picking up the water that had fallen out of her glass when we hatched.
"Brother? Rob is your brother?" I ask still in shock.
"Oh...yeah...yes, Rob is my brother. But please don't tell anyone, I don't want the press to know." She asks me, setting the mop back in place and refilling her glass.
It takes me some time to gather all the information. So she wanted me to leave because her brother was coming home and not her boyfriend. So I was the first man in her life and Rob is with Sophie. s**t! s**t!
"Oh, Kyle. On that note, when I asked you to leave, I did it because Rob was going to freak out. It was to avoid any trouble between you two. Have a good night." And his body passes me and goes away.
I run after Lara and grab her by the wrist.
"Can we talk?" I ask him in fear.
"Kyle, there's nothing to talk about. Everything is fine and just as before!" Her smile is sad and before I let her go I have to try again.
"So if it's okay since you can't sleep, do you want to come with me to the pool?" I ask her, meeting my eyes with hers.
"Kyle, I'm already in my pajamas. Good night." Lara takes her wrist from my hand and continues towards her room.
I don't believe it! I'm nothing but a useless person, who just does s**t. f**k! He is her brother, and she must think i have some kind of personality disorder.
"Good night!" I murmur.
