Kyle POV
I couldn't think, I just wanted to get out of there.
I unlocked the car, got in, and punched the steering wheel.
That kiss...
Rob's face...
I don't recognize myself. Why do I feel like this, like a part of me is being ripped out?
Lara has something that attracts me. Not like other women. Something that invades my senses, that makes me lose my reasoning. But the most curious thing of all is not lust. It's that need to protect her, to hug her and kiss her affectionately.
I couldn't stay there. Seeing the face of the person she sleeps with, and lives with, makes my blood boil. The anxiety I feel and these thoughts are leaving me on edge.
If she has a boyfriend, why kiss me? I don't want to ruin anyone's life. I didn't want her to regret it later and blame me. Yes, what I did was the best. I just want that big green eyes happy. Seeing her cry at the club, made me feel helpless and in pure agony.
My phone is ringing. Liam.
"Hey, dude", I greet him as I answer the call.
"Kyle, let's go to my house. If you want, come by," I heard his invite and some noise, making me know he is driving.
I run my hands through my hair, thinking about what should i do to erase this hurt I´m feeling.
"Sure", I decide while running my fingers throw my hair.
I start the car engine and head towards Liam's house.
Liam's house is full of women, teammates, and friends. The normal. I pour a strong drink and join them.
A few hours later Liam and I are invited to the room. The beautiful lady wants to share her time and attention with the two of us. It wasn't the first time Liam and I shared the same woman, there is already some understanding and synchrony. Neither of us touches the other, just the lady. It´s a different experience, we sometimes share.
She was a well-known model. It was hot as hell. I bet this was the best night of this lady's life. We dismissed her afterward and I went to my room. Yes, I have a room in Liam´s house, as he has in mine. He is my best friend, just like Dean and Tolga.
A few hours later I woke up, took a bath, and went for a morning run after eating my breakfast.
The house was silent, Liam and Dean must still be sleeping or having a hangover. When I open the gates to start running I see Dean jogging in my direction.
"Hey bro. How are you?", he asks when he stops in front of me.
"Needing a run to get the rest of the alcohol out of the system", I chuckle.
"I'll go with you for one more lap then". We started to run at a slow pace.
"I kissed Lara yesterday," I say out of breath.
Dean's pace slows.
"Awesome dude. Congrats! She is a really sweet girl", he says with an amused face.
"Nothing like that". I say breathing more deeply and starting to tell him what happened while still jogging.
"Wait...wait... Kyle? Are you stupid?" he frowns, stopping and looking at me.
"Why? I did the best..." I stopped too, wiping the sweat off my forehead.
"You are dumb. If she kissed you it's because…because…" My eyebrows go up because I'm surprised by his reaction and what he's going to say to me.
"Why?" I ask not wanting to wait anymore.
"If she kissed you, maybe they aren't a couple anymore or whatever. Lara isn't one of those, she wouldn't cheat on anyone," he explains, looking at me with a serious face.
"If they ended the relationship, the outcome would be the same. It would be a rebound, and considering that we're all going to work together it would only create chaos".
"I've never heard you talk about any woman the way you talk about her. And don´t tell me you don´t know she's different, because you are the one who said it in the first place. I think you should try to get to know her and maybe something more?"
"No. I don't have relationships. I don't know what love is and I don't want to know". That is my truth. I don´t date, I don´t do relationships, I only f**k.
"If you say so..." Dean answers me with a disbelieving frown.
I picked up the pace, Dean joined in and we finished the race after a while.
When I got to Liam's house again, I went to the bedroom to take another shower. When I came out, still wiping my hair with a towel when my cell phone rang. Lara sent a message. Glad Sophie's going, I think with relief.
