Chapter 6 - Tangled Webs

712 Words
If Jason Chen saw Lily Zhao now, he'd probably be able to guess her intentions and he'd definitely try to stop her. But Ethan Li didn't seem to care at all about being seen by the person outside. "Dr. Li," she had no choice but to ask him. Ethan looked at her pale face with a hint of amusement and gently pushed her down. Lily was uncomfortable with the level of intimacy and let out a low whimper. He got up close and personal, his voice cold as ice. "Afraid he’ll see us?" She nodded, curled up in his arms. "How does it feel to be with your former colleague's cousin?" Ethan wasn't sure how to describe the situation in his mind. "Is it exciting?" It certainly was. She'd already had several climaxes. "What do you think he'll do if he sees us?" Even rabbits don't eat the grass near their burrow, yet here you are, messing with his cousin… Ethan left the sentence unfinished on purpose. Lily felt like he was just toying with her. He could have easily closed the car window, but he didn't, forcing her to ask him to do so. Outside, Jason frowned, realising that the voice sounded familiar, and his expression changed slightly. The next thing you know, the car window was closed completely. "Ethan, I think I know that woman. "Her voice sounds familiar," Jason said. "Yeah," came the reply from inside, but there was no further explanation. Jason was a bit puzzled, but he wasn't one to pry, so he just shrugged and turned to go in. Inside the car, Lily's pale hands were covering Ethan's mouth, as if she thought he'd already given her away. The man's eyes were clear and expressionless, as if he wasn't aroused at all, not like someone engaged in an intimate act. Ethan wasn't particularly pleased with this encounter and it certainly wasn't memorable enough for him to think about the next time. He'd only let her in the car because he was tired after surgery and needed something to take his mind off things. Lily, on the other hand, was exhausted. She was leaning against his chest, unable to move. "Dr Li, can I add you on WeChat this time?" she asked, her breathing still a little uneven. Ethan thought about it for a moment and decided to go along with it this time. He quickly scanned his QR code for her to take a look at. But then he realised it was a hassle. Ultimately, he would still have to drive her back home. What was meant to be a relaxing experience ended up being more trouble and left him feeling even more tired. It really wasn't worth it. Ethan wasn't keen on a repeat. However, he still offered to drive her home this time and even handed her the contraceptive pills he'd prepared. "Thanks," said Lily. Ethan nodded and drove off. Lily felt this was a promising start. Now she had his WeChat, it'd be easy to get in touch with Ethan. What she hadn't counted on was that Ethan would be heading abroad for a three-month training programme straightaway. Lily felt a bit anxious. By the time three months had passed, any trace of their fling would have disappeared. Ethan would have surely forgotten about her with so many women around him. As it turned out, Lily was right. Ethan had completely forgotten about her. It was as if she were tucked away in a forgotten corner of his mind, never to be revisited. He was in high demand: tall, handsome and wealthy. Even abroad, lots of women were keen to spend time with him. One of the Chinese professors in his training programme's daughter was always looking for him after class, asking him about medical questions she didn't understand. As time went on, her questions got bolder and bolder until one day, she stood before him, completely naked, asking him questions related to biology. "Dr. Li, what do you think of my body?" Ethan remained calm and objective as he replied, "Not bad." “Would you like to try it out?” she asked with a smile. “I have some red wine in my room. How about we share a glass?”
