CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
MERRITT DAIMLER returned immediately to the FBI’s downtown headquarters on Dearborn following the incident that occurred at Logan’s place in Palatine. On the way in he called Jim Seilor, the agent currently in charge of the intense questioning of Sammy al-Dajani, on his cell phone to tell him everything that had taken place in Palatine. He indicated he was headed back downtown to check up on Sammy’s questioning, and to ensure that things were progressing relative to the Nasir investigation. Turning off his phone, Daimler knew it was a near impossibility, but he truly wished everyone on his call list would somehow lose his number for the remainder of his ride back into the city.
