Built into the wall next to a bookcase immediately behind Nasir’s desk, was a floor-to-ceiling mahogany panel which hid a door leading to a living quarters that Nasir now used far more than he had ever imagined he would, due to the difficult situation that existed between him and his wife in recent years. Nasir had a luxury condominium in a new North Michigan Avenue development that he could also use whenever he wanted to stay downtown overnight for business or entertainment purposes, but more often than not he eschewed that in favor of the private living area behind his office.
