JANE I knew Rachel. If she said it then she was going to do it. Unless I held her back, she was really going to pick a fight with Matty. I couldn't imagine where that would land us if she did. I didn't even bother to imagine it as I darted after her. Prevention, they say, was better than cure. It took me a little over two minutes to arrive. I'd run with all my strength. I thought I was on time. But I was too late. The moment I arrived at the scene was the moment Rachel grabbed Matty by the hair and flung her away, sending her crashing against the already arranged tables. My hand flew over my mouth.
