JANE Rachel's face was filled with solemnity. It was as if she would rather die than have me live in the streets. I chuckled wryly. That statement was meant to be a phrase I really didn't mean. But thinking about it, I realized it was actually the only option right now. I knew Rachel was mad that I could harbor such thoughts, but did she think I wasn't mad myself?
