JANE My entire body throbbed with pain, as if engulfed in an inferno, and my head pounded, threatening to explode or perhaps detach from my neck. I looked around but everything was blur, like the darkest hour of the night. I couldn't fathom the reason behind that and tried to look again, only for it to dawn on me. My eyes were tightly shut and I was looking around with my third sense which was practically my mind. Silly me. Slowly, I opened my eyes but quickly shut them back as the harsh sunlight fell on me, almost blinding me. It took a while before I decided to try again. I first opened my left eye as slowly as I could before opening the right. Then, I took my time to adjust to the lighting in the room and the sunlight.
