A few days later … I crouched low in the bushes surrounding the Hive, as still and quiet as I could, my eyes and ears alert for any dangers. The darkness of the night meant that I was hidden under the cover of shadow, but the Hive did have several lampposts set around it that provided sufficient illumination for the security cameras and guards who patrolled the exterior of the building at night. Right now, the guards were between shifts, but that didn’t mean it was safe to cross over to the Hive itself, because the security cameras were active day and night, and if I was seen on any of them, the plan would be completely ruined and we’d have to start over.
