CHAPTER THREE: THE ACCIDENT

731 Words
AMANDA POV "Amanda! wake up we will be late" my mother called I sluggishly got up, there is nothing i hate more than someone waking me up unfortunately my mother always does that when i started enjoying the sleep, thank God Emilia has gone to school if not double trouble. "you sleep like a corpse, the house will be on fire you will be sleeping" my mother teased me but i can't deny it. we got to the market late all thanks to me and my sleeping issue, actually am starting to like the market more well maybe because i play a lot here but that doesn't mean i don't do minor things like sweeping, buying small transparent bags for sale. As usual i was playing a game called "dough the ball" with my friends in the other street, i love this game. As we were playing the soft ball fall across the road so ran to pick pick it up, suddenly a car was in front of me i was so shocked i couldn't move. I woke up in a strange room with white curtains, there is a needle attached to my hand, i try getting up but i feel a sharp pain on my head, right hand and leg then a young woman wearing blue comes in then i realize am in the hospital, the first thing that comes to my mind is my mother. "Hi dear how are you feeling? am your nurse here to check up on you" the nurse said with a smile on her face. "am okay ma'am please i want to see my mummy" i said, the nurse said my mother is on the way which makes me relax a little bit, she leaves after checking up on me. After she left i try getting up again "you shouldn't be moving around in this condition" a deep, thick, dominant and intimidating voice said. I rise my head up towards the speaker only to see the man i once mistakenly hit with a stone standing in front of me with no expression on his face. "why did you hit me with your car? is it because i once hit you with a stone? i told you it was a mistake, you are a grown man how can you seek revenge against a child" i said angrily. He didn't say anything but gives me a very hard stare which get me so scared that i couldn't talk, he walk toward a small table beside my bed and drop a big bag and leaves. About thirty minutes my mom comes in crying "Amanda my baby are you okay? how are you feeling? any pain? " she asked still crying "mummy am okay, please stop crying" i can't help but cry myself. When my mother and i finally calmed down i asked her how she knew i am at this hospital , it turns out one of the kids i was playing with told her but took her some time to locate the hospital. "are you sure you are okay? feeling any pain" "am okay mum just a little pain, please stop worrying" i answered. Then a much older woman comes in i think he is with the strange man she says she will be going "please i want to see the man that brought my daughter to the hospital i will love to thank him personally" my mom said to the woman, before the woman can respond i start talking "mummy do you remember the day i told you i mistakenly hit a man with a stone, it was the man that hit me with his car" "oh! no no dear he was not the one that hit you" she went on to explain to my mother and i how the driver that hit me ran away leaving me there but thankfully they drove by and rushed me to the hospital. I feel so bad for accusing him and shock when she said the room am staying in is an executive room and he had paid all my hospital bills and the big bag is for the things i will need during my stay in the hospital.
