The fear washed over me, causing my body to start trembling. I quickly backed away from the cave. This is not good, not at all. The ground beneath my feet began to tremble along with me. “No, no, no.” My back slammed in to a tree. Closing my eyes, I sunk to the ground wrapping my arms around my knees.
“Lexi? What’s going on?” I felt John kneel next to me, placing his hand on my shoulder.
“I can’t go in there. It is too dangerous.” I whispered in to my knees.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
“My powers. I don’t know what I am capable of or how to control them. What if I start an earthquake? I could kill those poor kids.” I sobbed.
“Hey now. I don’t think you could possibly hurt them. Your powers have only come out when they are needed and they have never hurt anyone except our enemies.” H
