"Why does this place look so dark? Are you sure it's open?" I asked as Otti dragged me down the hall behind Kieran.
"Yes, Pierce, we're sure," Otti said for the twelfth time.
They said that they were taking me somewhere special for my birthday. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't a dark, practically empty restaurant. I know they usually try to go above and beyond for my birthdays since I never got to truly celebrate growing up.
Every year has been fantastic because of them. Mostly because I get to spend it with them. They always invite our friends and family. Anders and Mal don't always make it, but Toni, Clara
