"Maybe you should get some more sleep Mom," Ty suggested. "We can go out for dinner tonight instead." "Yeah, Ty's right, Mom." I agreed. "You need sleep." "I slept plenty, you two. I'm wide awake and energized. I'm ready to spend the day with my two favorite people whom I never see anymore," Mom replied with a pout. Ty and I exchanged a look before breaking out into smiles. "Okay, that sounds fun," I said, happily. "Let me just grab my purse," Mom replied, rushing off. Ty and I got our shoes and jackets on. Mom was back no more than a second later. We were laughing about a story Mom told us about a patient as I opened the door and... I nearly ran right into my boyfriend who was holding two bags of take-out boxes with the diner's logo on them.
