"What the hell was that about?" Kieran mumbled after we watched Colleen and Otti pull out of the driveway.
"I thought she was working all night," I muttered, more to myself.
Kieran turned his head to look at me.
"How would you know if Colleen was supposed to work all night?" he asked me.
There's no use hiding anything anymore. Colleen knows now. Kieran offered the information like it was nothing. I left the Devils Night party, something my parents have most likely noticed by now. Plus, I told Kieran I would tell him the truth.
I'm finally backed into a corner.

"Because she always works all night long on this night. Every year," I told him.
