"Alright look, just... lay down and get some sleep. I'm gonna shower. Everything is going to be fine, Peirce. I promise." Kieran said, clearly trying to reassure Pierce.
"I hope you're right," Pierce replied so softly that I wasn't sure if Kieran had even heard him.
There was something in Pierce's voice when he said that. Something sad that spoke to my heart. It made me want to give up on my charade and throw my arms around him. No way in hell was I going to do that though.
Have I been awake this entire time?
Maybe.
Did I hear every bit of Pierce and Kieran's conversation?
Maybe.
Have I been pretending to be sleeping because I'm too much of a coward to let them know that I heard everything?
