Destiny engine

1117 Words
The destiny engine, just like the name implied had just one function, and that was to shape every players destiny differently. In simpler terms every player that logged into my game would have a different playstyle and a different view of the game depending on the choices you made along the way. One player could become and overpowered sorcerer of knight while another player was busy working as a labourer for another player. My destiny engine with the help of Ai would create different scenarios for different scenarios for players based the different actions they took I'm real time. Let's say for example there are two players, Player1 and player2. Player1 is adventurous and likes to explore the island while player2 two also explores but only in search of food. There was a higher possibility for player1 to awaken a special ability like teleportation and the likes meanwhile player2 might awaken a completely different ability. The smallest of choices made In the game would set you apart from every other player, so it wasn't possible for players to finish the game the same way. Some might have to slay the demon King while another player just had to become a father. The unique feeling this game brings to each and every player is what I had always been looking for in other games. And since it was all a result of your own choices, it made players feel like their destinies were in their own hands, literally. This was my unique creation and the very thing that gave me the most pride. After admiring my work with a dumb smile on my face, I get right back to work again making sure to fix all the bugs I could find. This was the difficult part since the game was basically different to every player that logged in, how was I supposed to know where and why the bugs would pop up. Truly there could never be a perfect creation. With a sigh I just give up on my attempt to scour my game world, it was almost impossible to do that solo. Since that didn't work I decide to something else, work on my character customisation panel. Since I wanted my game to be different in as many aspects as possible, my character panel would also be different in the sensed that there was no character panel at all. You had to upload a picture of yourself and the game would model a character after your real world appearance, you could also decide to upload a fake or different photo anyways. Don't wanna spoil the fun for everyone by being too strict. While I was busy thinking up new ways to give players a heart attack, a customer walked in asking for a advice on the kind of toothbrush to buy and therefore making we pause my work with my evil plans halted midway. "Good morning young man" said the woman. Good morning ma, how may I be of help? I ask. " Mmmm I need a toothbrush and paste for my 6 year old boy, do you have any recommendations?". Oh this oralkids will do just fine for your child, it's made for kids under the age of 10, I advice. "Oh thank you that does seem like the best choice" Your welcome ma, thanks for shopping with us, I drop that line subconsciously, it had become a habbit for me over the years of repeating it. She picks up her goods and walks to the counter to make her Payment and I'm left to my self and work once again. This is why I love this spot, I could just chill till someone walked over to me. No pressure at all. Looking at my game I don't what else is missing and I'm itching to play it but I had to calm down. I couldn't just play it alone since it was supposed to be an mmorpg game. After another round check of my game I hope into the internet trying to find the best platform to release my game. Now I had two reasons for doing this. First of all I needed people to actually play my game so I wouldn't enjoy this beauty alone, and then secondly I wanted to make profit from it too. None of those aforementioned reasons would become reality if the game didn't get the recognition it deserved. On second thoughts I should contact I should probably contact ace first, I thought to my self. He was my friend who had been helping with the game, you could even say he was my partner at this point. His real name was Sam, but I called him ace because it was his in game tag. Picking up my phone and about to dial his number, I see him waltzing towards me with that signature sheepish smile and carefree demeanour. "What's up zinwoo?,he asked with same smile while giving me a loud and heavy handshake. I'm good br, you look like you won the lottery, what's going on. At this point I'm smiling too cause his smile was just infectious. "I have great news bro, it's gonna blow your mind". Well come on then spill it allllll out. I'm honestly curious at this point. " So you remember that my contact whom I said was working for a tech company in Singapore?" Well if you mean Mr Dave then ye, I remember. " Ok so I sent him a sample of the game, and damnnnnn he loved it. He was especially intrigued by the destiny engine". "And guess what he actually offered to buy the project for 300 thousand dollars!!! man". Wtf!!! Our game is worth that much? I ask in disbelief, I know about the potential of the game especially the destiny engine and currency system but I didn't expect someone to offer that much this early. I'm not still selling tho I state wholeheartedly. " I know... I know, I already refused his offer but we did settle for a partnership, that seems to benefit us more in the long-term". I agree bro, this game is my service to humanity can't let someone else monopolise it. " Well the goodnews is not over" Are you serious? There's more?? " He'll ye bro" he said with a smile that says I'm awesome plasterd on his face. I really wanna punch him just a little. Bringing out his phone from his bag, he scrolls for a bit clearly searching for something, meanwhile I'm getting impatient on my end. Just when I was about to lose it, he plants his phone right in my face, and what I'm seeing really blows my mind.
