Vivere island

1104 Words
On the shores of the vivere island, the sun was at its peak and the skies were the most vibrant blue anyone could see. The trees were tall and dense with mountain ranges visible in every direction. The waves moved back and forth as if shy to meet with sandy beach. But if one looked closely, on one of the many beaches on the vivere island there were hundreds of people if strewn about, all lying on the sandy but wet grounds as if it was the most comfortable mattress they had ever used. There wreckages laying around as well ranging from huge metal scraps down to more mundane things like luggage, all these told the tales of a great mishap at sea. Urrgghhh!! Damn isn't this too realistic?, I cant feel my face. Shitty developers……. Oh wait that me, I take that back. I'm ashore and I'm surrounded by dozens of players all seemingly waking up from a coma. In front of me is the island of vivere, one the main islands of this game plot. This game world consists of 4 islands connected to each other with a central island bigger than all of them combined floating in the middle. Rebirth online didnt have different servers like traditional games, instead we made every island a unique zone for people from different continents. Because of this feature every one of the four islands was completely different and had a different terrain and laws that govern them. Let's say for example Asian players would mostly find themselves on the sizun island where the power system felt more like a cultivation journey, they had a different name for skills and everything else. Why go through this trouble? you might want to ask, well it's quite simple. Humans loved different things and this was done to promote cultures across different places all over the world, and to create a sense of belonging among players on a given island. Anyways I'm on Vivere which is the latin word for survival, this island was gonna the home ground of most mages and psychics in the latter parts of the game, but I won't spoil things too much. I'm finally getting my bearings and taking in everything around me, I can clearly feel the ocean sea splashing against my feet. Looking down at my feet I can my shoes have completely dissapeared for no reason, I look at other players around and most of them still have thier shoes on except a few. My trouser are torn and my white long sleeve Shirt only has one sleeve now, with a sigh I grab the other sleeve and directly yanked it off. I wouldn't be able to focus until I yanked it off. I turn around in a attempt to find my so called partner 'Avatar001', but handsome but unlucky fellow Is nowhere in sight. The island is huge anyways and players would wash up in different parts, it could even take weeks before you come close to reaching an opposite end of the island. While I'm in my thoughts I get message the tutorial Ai, almost giving me a heart attack. [ Congratulations 'Silvergod' for surviving the shipwreck, you have landed on an uncharted island. Priotise finding food and shelter…. Or not… you can do whatever you want.] “….“ Wtf was that about?, ignoring the non existent tutorial guide which I designed by the way, I call up my status screen with a simple thought. [STATUS] PLAYER NAME: 'Silvergod' LEVEL:0 CLASS: none STR:5 SPD:5 VIT:5 END:5 SkILLS:none REMARK:[ you survived yaaay! Now do your best to stay alive. Ignoring the snarky remark from the system,I focus on the stats and see their individual descriptions. STR=strength: this stat shows a players weight carting capacity, and muscle strength. SPD=speed: this stat shows a players overall speed, reaction and dexterity. VIT= vitality: this stats shows a players vigor, health and survivability. When VIT hits 0, the player dies. END=endurance: this stats shows a players stamina and overall ability to receive beatings. It also shows a players ability to survive in harsh conditions. SKILLS: you have none so why are you even asking?. I'm starting to get irritated by these system remarks. Anyways all my stats are at 5 because it's the default beginner stat for every player, this was to make the starting point fair and making builds easier for players cause the game didn't have any starting classes. With everything set I start walking into the expansive forest, there was a reason I chose this island of vivere. And it lay deep into the forest, it's cheating I know but don't worry, this will be the only time I use my knowledge of the game for my own benefit. The thing I want to acquire is something I designed just for my self, you can think of it as reward for my self after working so hard. While I make bold strides towards the forward, I also observe my surroundings, checking on the other players actions. I could see many players already kicking things off, some where gathering debris from the ship, or what was left of it. These players intentions were probably to buiid makeshift shelters just like the system adviced. The game might seem like it didn't have a hand holding tourial but it gave important information with hints, it was left up to the player whether to listen or not. There wasn't any penalty for not listening anyways, after all the game was supposed to be realistic, that why it didn't have just one fixed mainquest and ending. The destiny engine would shine in all its glory in this particular area. I keep walking forward and admiring everything in sight, from the sand to the sea to the player that was trying to make fire whilst using metal scraps from the ship as makeshift firewood. I know it's a video game but common. Leaving everyone behind and walk straight into the forest, the trees are so tall with their canopies blanketing the blue skies making it darker the further one walked. While making my way towards goal I can see other players with adventurous spirits heading deep into the forest too. Very much like me these guys probably couldn't wait to get thier hands on some cool skills. I smile to myself as I can see the game becoming a lot more interesting in the coming weeks. Hissss!! I turn vigilant immediately I hear a hissing sound, looking to the ground just in front me there's a snake coiled and ready to strike at a moment's notice.
