Chapter 13
A red book, a black book and a violet book.
Each of them glowing lightly and rhythmically pulsating as if alive. It's a little creepy if I'm to be honest, all the years spent in the monastery didn't prepare me for this.
Living books huh?, but I'm supposed to do with them?, there are no instructions here to follow.
System? You gonna drop any clues on what to do?
……………….….………
Total silence sweet.
With no instruction manual or whatever I just picked up the violet book. Or at least I tried to, the book just swerved and I missed it.
I tried and again and again till I was sweating all over but the stupid books just kept running away from me like we were playing tag.
What am I missing exactly?
Why would a book run from me? I thought
Since this was supposed to be a kind of test, there has to be a requirement to fulfill. Right?.
A librarian is a keeper of knowledge, so do I need to be in possession of the knowledge in the book already?
how the f**k am i supposed to guess what knowledge is in that book?
Who made this game. Are they some kind of sadists or sick in the head.
Shit! I think I'll go bald thinking of this stupid test, should I have just picked mage. I mean flinging fireballs is kinda cool too.
I can even become a summoner later down the line, all those cute creature's can join my army.
Wait a minute….. cute creature's?
This is a world of magic, these damn books are living creatures.
I'm an i***t for only realising this now.
With a sudden inspiration from my earlier rambling I walk to the blackboard with more curiosity than confidence.
Picking up the white chalk, which I had never really seen in person since we have white boards back in the real world.
I start writing down a part of history that should not have been recorded by anyone yet.
Our fight with the mage Alfonso.
From the first dungeon discovery down to how we got our asses handed to us by the homeless mage. I used especially big words to add flare to the whole ordeal without exaggerating it either.
Putting down the chalk I dust my hands and the proceed to pet the three books floating around me.
They had all flown towards me.. or rather the black board immediately I started writing.
They were acting like curious little kittens who wanted to know what I was doing, I honestly don't know if they can read, I mean they're books.
Oh well that's not my problem.
They let me touch them now and that's whats important.
Suddenly they all flipped open on their own, much like they wanted me to write in them or something.
Taking that as my cue I picked up the violet book, and that's when I realised something important.
I had no pen and white chalks apparently don't work on books… dont ask me how I know that.
I didn't really need the pen as I dissapeared along with the violet book.
[Congratulations Athena-sama, you have acquired the class librarian, may your wisdom reach the five realms].
Im back at the forest huh?, taking to a classroom all of a sudden, thought they were gonna give me a written test or something. I still don't get the logic behind this game.
“You should probably check your status and see what has changed” rejoice said from the side.
I honestly forgot about him for a second.
Oh well.

Hehehe I've got me some pretty nerdy sounding skills Silva, I think I'll need to buy a pair of glasses.
“Hey lemme see” he replied while grabbing my hand.
Bibliophile(passive): gain exp by ammasing knowledge.
Lecture(active): boost a targets skill level for a short period of time. There is a 5% chance of permanence.
Inspect(active): gain information about different life forms. The degree of information depends on the user's level.
Memorise: once a day replicate a spell that has been studied. There is no class limitation.
“You got more stats”?
Hehehe bow before your goddess you mere mortal, I'm really enjoying the feeling of superiority. Who says I'm inferior to some unique class.
“It's just stats you know, my class has dual modes so in reality I have two classes, muhahahahahah"
This i***t, I'll get it him eventually. Over the past three days we've been hunting together and he really doesn't treat me like a lady.
Not that I don't like it, it's just i never expected him to treat me like a real team mate.
Most guys I've seen would rather just show off with the knowledge they have about the game, and try to impress me at every chance they get, but this i***t would actually let me do all the work if possible.
That's the reason I decided to stick with him, I wanna enjoy the game play and have an adventure that's impossible in the real world. Not just because he's kinda cute.
With the class changes done we slowly make our way towards the shores of the island where we wrecked.
The progress is extremely alarming, I don't know if it's because it's a game but things should not progress this fast. I mean it's only been three days and people are already building log cabins, how did you fell wood for this?
Where is the logic in that?
I'm pretty sure just cutting down wood isn't enough for a long cabin, where do they nails and hammers? I asked Silva sincerely confused.
“Most of the players here at this time are survival game addicts, they are pretty resourcefull, and you don't really need nails to build a small shelter, ropes and strong vines will do”.
